I was excited to see what this market had to offer i recently moved local to here. I went to the raw milk and egg stall, the seller at this stall was unpleasant, demeaning and seemed unhappy to talk to me. i wonder why I wish i saved my money and bought at another stall. Only ended up buying as I was there and desperately needed my weekly organic milk and eggs. Will never come back here again! Im going to Hackney farmers market instead rather travel a bit then having to interact with this individual again. Also his milk was overpriced compare to other farmers market.
I love this Sunday farmer's market. You can get excellent bread, cheese, fresh and fermented vegetables and many more things. There are a lot of stalls offering Street food, so you can taste a lot of the products before you buy. The people working there are close knit community. Ask for their recommendations an they will tell you which products of the other stalls, will go best, with the one you're interested or buying with them.
If you are vegetarian it is a paradise for organic veggies. Best apples, cakes, cheese from local farmers.
A very lovely market with great vendors selling fresh produce. Anything from veg to milk, cheese and eggs. There are food stalls as well. I love the vegan cake one. The Indian food is amazing as well offering super tasty vegan and vegetarian curries. I can highly recommend the cauliflower curry.
Unlike many other farmers markets, Walthamstow's shows evidence of a customer base that extends beyond the usual home owning set. In addition, this market benefits from the presence of the volunteer run St Luke's refreshment stall, supplying hot drinks to vendors and more vulnerable people too. Excellent cake at crazy low prices too.
Fresh food ..hahaha.Whats not sold is kept in extremely unhygienic places often railway arches where rats and cats Piss all over everything..then it's wheeled out a week later and sold as fresh ..PLEASE!
I love markets. However Walthamstow market is ever decreasing and almost feel like a wasted journey has stolen my time. Saving grace is the farmers market with a beautiful array of goodies. Organic sausages, olives if all types, hams and juices. This makes visiting the market so worthwhile.
