Not sure why there are two google walnut lakes but we enjoyed our visit here. Only issue was the noise from the main roads close by. The terrain is very flat so noise travels great distances. However, the site is awesome, clean, tidy and well looked after. Showers and toilets were excellent. Clean and tidy again. Nice little lakes full of large fish. You can see them swimming about.
Had a very enjoyable experience lovely site very peaceful. Owners are very friendly a d helpful had the weekend here a d enjoyed it so much we came back a day later for 2 more nights. Fishing is A1 and some excellent carp in the lakes. So looking forward to a week in July. Many thanks Andy & Lynn
Lovely site and great carp fishing. Site beautifully maintained. Lovely site owner Maria was very welcoming. Maria was very helpful and understanding especially on our morning of departure when our car refused to start. We look forward to a return visit to this little gem.
Absolutely 1st class, site was clean, toilet and showers were excellent, very friendly owners, fishing was super some big carp, wife and I were catching fish up to 10 lb all day, luncheon meat, can not wait to go again, no children allowed, super pleased
A wonderful site. With fantastic fishing and a very welcoming friendly reception. The site itself is immaculate and very well looked after. They also now stock thier own fishing bait which is very high quality and catches the better fish. You won't be disappointed if you stay at Walnut Lakes. 5*
A nice caravan and Motorhome site. Beautiful setting around a couple of small fishing lakes bring your rod. Price £17/night. Nice gravel hardstanding with grass either side. Electric hookup available at £1/card. We used one card over two days using our own gas for cooking and heating. Given 4 rather than 5 stars as it's very close to main cross road so some traffic noise, also feels a little hemmed in with major roads nearby. There was no recycling on site, everything going into general waste, which seems bit wrong these days. Overall, a nice place and very relaxing with good views
We spent a week here in a caravan. It was cold, wet, windy, sunny and a frost in May. But the weather didn't spoil our stay. The owners are absolutely fabulous people. The site is immaculate the facilities are the same and its an adult only site. Our dogs loved it as did our African Grey! The fishing lakes are well stocked and well looked after. Going back again soon.
The site itself is great at £17.00 per night for a Motorhome & 2 Adults it is Adults only. Very large & well spaced out level hardstanding gravel pitches with easily accessible water & waste etc., all with electric hook up. A few grass pitches at the back of the site some with hook up. The area is well maintained with most pitches being situated around 2 fishing ponds. The toilets & showers were closed due to Covid so cannot comment on them. Dogs are welcome & there's a decent dog walk accessible from each corner of the site. Road noise is an issue if you want peace & quiet, being next to the A17 it's constant 24 hours. So OK for a stopover, may become tiresome if staying for longer & not there just for the fishing? The electric hook up is also chargeable via a pre pay card, £5.00 lasted us 3 nights with being careful & cooking on gas when possible.
Lovely quiet and peaceful site. Facilities clean, the site is well maintained. The owners are lovely and made us feel very welcome. Quiet lanes around the area made cycling easy. The fishing was very good. We will be returning in the future.
Nice site with pitches around a man made lake. Facilities nice and clean with electric showers but poor lighting inside. Electric meter for EHU which uses silly cards you have to buy for credit. Gravel pitches are nice size and more importantly flat. Entrance/exit onto busy road is a little scary. However be under no illusion extremely busy A roads 60 mph limit on 3 sides so traffic noise is loud. Evenings you can hear the 2fast2furious boyz out in their pimped up Corsa’s with subtle undertones of motorcycles bouncing off their redlines ….. ok for a 1 night stop over with ear plugs !!
