Very friendly checkout staff and good range of products.
Lovely beach and dig friendly all year, new addition of rocky the talking parrot outside the cafe. Fantastic local icecream, a must ! Sadly the Motorhome site has now gone and no intention of permitting vans to stay in the car park. What a shame, it will be sadly missed :
Fantastic staff always very friendly and helpful, absolute highlight of every visit. However the store itself is in a sorry state, the walkways and fencing leading to the automatic fine car park have been in a state of disrepair for many months now. All the trolleys are rusty and knackered from being left outside during the refurbishment, which saw the removal of the cafe and deli counter, leaving only the meat counter which is sometimes unmanned or closed.nnOne of the worst issues that plagues this store is an inadequate inventory system that results in frequent mispricing at the checkouts and far too many staff required to check products, to the point where there are so many staff on the shop floor that, as nice as they are, they are actually in the way and you can't access a shelf or aisle. It also causes refrigerated products to be brought out unnecessarily and they can thaw before being put back, so sometimes items such as ham or dairy are spoiled prematurely.nnThe quality of products is noticeably better than other stores, but still underwhelming. Products are regularly out of stock, even first thing in the morning. Particularly fresh produce which is often left out until rotten, sprouted, or furry, which is not how I like my strawberries, but hey, they might be reduced by 20p. How generous.nnThere are often queues at the checkouts during the day with minimal staff and too much space dedicated to self-checkouts, which nobody likes. The new layout, although nice to look at, is poorly conceived, with chilled products at the start instead of the end, fewer checkouts, tall shelves with some items hard to reach, and for some reason John Lewis insist on trying to sell overpriced seasonal toot that inevitably ends up on clearance sale for pennies.nnOpening hours are very limited on holidays which often catches people out expecting the store to be open when other shops are.nnIt's a shame that Waitrose haven't taken the initiative to improve. Considering it's our town's only superstore, it could be a great deal better.
Disappointed review previously but today 25th July 24 was much better so stocked up for the freezer. Plenty of meat, fruit & veg. Helpful staff, good parking and close to Holsworthy town.
Good wheel chair access and lots of free parking
