Vogrie Country Park

Love Vogrie for a walk or to take the kids to the play park. Lots of benches to picnic, space to run around and BBQ areas for larger groups. Easy to spend a good few hours here. Parking only a pound too!

£1 car park. Great woodland walls. Open green area to play with children (or the dog). A few art type structures between the car park and Vogrie House. Vogrie House has a cafe which serves delicious food, both inside & outside seating + dog friendly in the conservatory. Excellent large play park 10 minute was from car with smaller play structure next to the car park. Park hosts a Park Run every Saturday morning.

Always a great walk, whatever time of year. Coffee shop is now open nearly every day. Two play parks, the one further in can get busy on a nice day. loads of other options for kids. Wee train in the summer time is a big hit with under 6 kids.

Nice park with lots of good walks with a variety of terrains and lengths to accommodate most abilities. We visited on cold November mid-week day, so probably didn't see the park at its best - cafe looked closed although it was should have been open according to the posted opening times. Vogrie House itself isn't generally accessible (the cafe uses a part of the building) as it's the HQ for the council's Park Ranger Service. Fairly large miniature railway layout operated on certain days by a local model engineering group - check park website for details. Beware of the main car park exit - there is an unmanned pay on exit system (£1, Nov. 2017) and the coin slot is a bit on the high side for most cars, so you need to drive up very close to the machine - not well designed at all.

Great for walks and the play park is fab for older kids. Not really that great for younger ones tho. Still a very good park and the facilities are really well kept.
