Some staff are friendly and management lack customer service skills and empathy. The vibe is dead in the gym, staff could do more to motivate and assist clients get the best outcomes and experience in gym. They have the right equipment just not in the right place and low ceiling restricts workout's ‍. The location of gym is what will encourage you to join but that Enthusiasm will pass quickly.
The gym is fantastic, with an equally fantastic staff. I am always greeted with a smile upon arrival, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The staff are super friendly, making every visit enjoyable.
I was sworn at by a member in the changing room f.off and aggressively confronted for kindly pointing out his swimming trunks caused a water puddle in which I nearly slipped. As per Virgin policy for aggressive or swearing behaviour, reported him to the operation manager Chris Xavier who was not interested in the slightest. Appaling attitude. In his mind because the member had ADMITTED swearing at me "this made everything ok" Of course it didn't as nobody tells me to f.off and apology not accepted!! As I did not accept his apology, he ridiculously banned me from this club hence crazy and unacceptable decision. I obviously complained to Chris' own line manager confirming not handled correctly. As far as I know member is still there against Virgin's policy again very unfair and unacceptable. My refund money for days not been used also took Over the 14 days as advised once complaint and follow ups been raised, again unacceptable. Moved on and much happier at ELITE David Lloyd Amazing Staff and Respectful decent members luxury and another level I had cancelled my membership there anyway from October 2024 renew 12 month period due to his poor management and other factors so did not have the last laugh anyway IF this crazy decision to ban me from ALL Virgin Active Gyms stands never know in future through absolutely no fault of own, I will be be taking this further with head office and directors. However have no plans whatsoever to return to Virgin Active due to an horrendous management team. Chris Xavier's customer service and empathy is non existent so been absolutely delighted never to see him again Many thanks
Knackered, tired, worn out old equipment and they have no money to fix anything. Definitely not worth the expensive membership fees - the lack of funds might indicate they're going bust....... One week later and the feeling is that they have no money. They now have NO fully functioning machine bikes!! Wow, how can a gym get into this state?
Brilliant gym , fantastic location. Great size so can always train no matter how busy . The atmosphere and people are top
"average wait time is 3 minutes" and "Don't sweat we'll be with you soon" and I am still hanging there for 30 minutes NOW?? Is it company policy to make customers wait an unreasonable amount of time when they wish to cancel their membership? I cannot afford to spend another hour waiting on hold. If you are unable to answer my call, I am submitting this message as my notification of cancelling my contract, which will be effective 30 days from now. My id is 452p88919 *Edit: Finally they picked up my call after waiting for 30 minutes and they said they will send a confirmation email soon not received yet, if I have not received the email this is on you!
I’ve only been a member for the last four weeks. I really can’t fault this gym The staff are extremely friendly and helpful great facilities for working out plus all lovely views from all windows are a bonus Its has a Beautiful pool area, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna I would certainly recommend this health club to friends
Recently joined this gym & found everything to be great thus far - the staff have been super friendly & approachable. Huge shoutout to Amy who walked me through the process and gave me a tour of the facilities - very personable, professional & attentive. I’d have likely stayed with PureGym if it wasn’t for Amy going though the classes & offerings in detail. The gym itself has great machines and a weighted area, the changing rooms are clean & the spa facilities are kept to a good condition.
Perhaps if there wasn't so much egotistical slamming of weights onto their floor, the ceiling wouldn't have collapsed on Pizza Express on the floor below. Causing a fleet of ambulances and fire engines to turn up in an emergency?
Great gym. Friendly staff too. They just need to upgrade their equipment slightly. More cables and better options.
