They never turn up when they say they are going to. They make every excuse not to do the simplest of jobs. The motorized central heating valve has been sticking for some time periodically and they said when they turned up it wasn't doing so wouldn't fix it. They ridiculously asked me to call them out of hours if it did it again and to video it. The senior cowboy plumber didn't even bring any tools in or open it up to look. Just a visual look and a flat refusal. Couldn't be bothered in other words. He preferred to question my knowledge and experience telling be that he was qualified so there for he knew best. I have to call the out of hours service which means disruption to my two young toddlers and potentially more money for them. Don't whatever you do employ these cowboys. A job really that any qualified plumber would hear the explanation of the problem we faced and instantly know to replace the motor valve. This is not our first bad experience of them. They came out to replace a ballcock. They asked to borrow our hoover so they could suck out the excess water from the tank. Previous to this they were supposed to fit a radiator and despite having arranging three appointments with them they never turned up to do the job. On the last time of trying was told they would be out that afternoon. Had a call from one of the so called professional engineers he said "Yes I am on my way. I have a radiator and a load of copper pipes and it all looks very exciting." Another no show. The issue we have is that they are contracted by our landlord to do everything to do with our plumbing and central heating so we have no choice in getting this idiots. If you own your house and need a plumber don't call these idiots. You would be better off calling the Chuckle Brothers or the Krankies.
UPDATE... almost 2 weeks later and I'm STILL waiting for them to turn up. Another day sat waiting and no show!! Disgusting!! Waited in all day for an emergency boiler repair. Cancelled my baby's jabs so I didn't miss it. And nobody has turned up. So I'm now stuck in a freezing cold house all weekend with an 8 month old baby and no source of heating!! Thank you so much!! I'm withholding my rent to Derwent living until this is fixed!!
Fitted new combi boiler in my airing cupboard and removed old boiler from kitchen. The two young men were very polite and respectful that it was my home. They made every effort to keep any mess to a minimum by using dust and stair covers etc. Builder came as promised to fix brickwork and plaster this morning. If the electrician turns up to wire today then it will be a job well done. My reason for not giving 5 stars is mainly due to not being able to contact their office 50% of the time.
Due a gas service the first attempt to visit my property I was unaware someone was coming. The second attempt I tried on numerous occasions to contact to arrange a day that I can be in but unable to get through! Someone did turn up as I was leaving for work and I spoke with him whilst I was still waiting on the phone to speak with someone he could not help with booking a day in for me! On the third attempt once again I received no information with a time and just missed them! I have tried numerous times to get hold of someone! I work 12 hour days with only two half hour breaks so I am unable to sit on the phone waiting to get through! I am now being threatened with court if I’m not in for the last attempt but once again I am working and unable to call through to arrange a convenient day I have been on the phone for 40 mins now still on hold!! I can’t find anywhere on a website to arrange anything either!
Second review I'm making. Yet again Vinshire employees are claiming to show up at my house to check my boiler, but there has been no knock and no card through the door. I have now been told that if another appointment is 'missed' then they will have to cap our gas. After rearranging a previous appointment, I asked customer service to make sure it was done between school hours. Yet again no one has shown up and I am having to put a letter by my door for the serviceman asking if they could wait around while I pick up my child. Completely sick of this company. Put in a complaint to both Vinshire and Derwent Living Housing Association.
I've just read the other reviews regarding Vinshire but my own personal experience with them has been very good. I can't fault the Surveyor, Tony Adams. He was extremely professional and empathetic to my difficult situation. He worked quickly, thoroughly and respected my home and answered all of my annoying questions! What happens next when I have a complete heating overhaul may indeed be a different matter, but today I'll give them top marks. Thank you.
