Village Tandoori

The place is large and looks exquisite but really was dissapointed by the service and portion sizes of the foods. Quantity doesn't serve one person properly for the price. The mixed kebabs are plentiful. But the curries, tikkas, and the speciality dishes are quite less for even a single person. The spiciest of all tikkas didn't quite taste well. The keema naan, and garlic naan doesn't dissapoint, but the plain naan, and cheese naan does. The biryani was the biggest dissapointment of all in taste and quality. Writing this review after trying the neighbouring restaurants I'd rather never try visiting this place again. The service was rather non-existent. Servers didn't pay attention, and confused about the items themselves, and just tossed cutlery on the tables and left. The place looks understaffed and hence the service was dissapointing as well.

Visited this place after a couple of years and wow! It did not disappoint! Started with crunchy poppadoms and a spicy onion chutney then had chicken karahi on the bone, lamb karahi on the bone, Tarka daal and a Persian mixed grill. Curries were delicious full of flavour and the Persian mixed grill was cooked to perfection. Juicy and tender pieces of meat. Definitely recommend this to a foodie

Ordered the chicken tikka kebab and some fries. The food was amazing. Arrived quickly and it was really tasty

The Village is a restaurant landmark of Glasgow having been here for decades. I have been coming here almost weekly for years. Restaurant is clean and I like that you can see into the kitchen and be reassured by the cleanliness and good preparation. Food is always on point and they have lots of options and desi style dishes as well. Staff are always polite and attentive. Ignore the other negative reviews, all places can alow down when busy. They can make any dish to any spice level. Recommend ginger handi and lamb karahi. I would highly recommend the Village and would say it is probably one of the best desi indian and Pakistani restaurants in Glasgow.

I ordered a very simple coffee which was horrible. I left the place with the cup nearly full and paid for the coffee. Adding all the milk and sugar served on the side did not help either. My friends ordered some food and no one asked how the food was.

£13.50 for a box standard lamb curry... Menu price or made up price .. No rice No nan.....?....Try Yadgar before you come here... Queried the manager... That's what the computer says..?... Overpriced for a Karahi...... Yadgar for Me..

Food was good but only 2 people serving throughout a very busy lunch. We waited over 15min for new drinks to arrive, we ended up asking the other server when walking past. We also waited 35 minutes between our starters being removed and mains arriving. Sadly I won’t be returning.

I'm friend had a wedding party. Food was fabulous and so tasty. Service was great. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would go back for a meal there. And recommend its great place.Food: 5/5

Read the reviews, kind of put off but don't believe everything you read. Slow to start off but he was dealing with another customer query. Waiter did apologize and made small talk. 9 minutes from order to table, the food was amazing washed down with a delicious milk shake. Definitely keep the fire at bay. Waited a wee while. A little work on customer body language and the food, well you'll just have to try it for yourself

Was here on 12/11/2022 as a surprise 50th for me by my girlfriend and my kids were waiting . Waited 30 mins before even being asked for drinks but 2 tables who came in after us were being seen to first . Then we ordered everything together after I kept looking at the waiters to get their attention. Some Drinks came but No water so we asked again then the food arrived and the waiter serving we mentioned that we are still waiting for water his reply was “ You will get it when it comes “ we all thought did we hear that right . Eventually during eating I had enough and spoke to the manager to say we’ve asked for water multiple times now to 3 different people and still nothing . We’re he replied it’s probably given to the wrong table next to you even though there was no table next to us. So disappointed with the service as the food was nice but I really believe if you take time to train your staff or even employ more so this doesn’t keep happening you wouldn’t get as much bad reviews sorry to say won’t be back but won’t make a difference the place was busy and the buck stops with management.
