Fantastic Stay at Village Hotel Walsall I recently stayed at the Village Hotel Walsall and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Linda at the reception, who was incredibly helpful and welcoming. She made our check-in process quick and easy, which was much appreciated after a long journey. We arrived slightly earlier than our check-in time, but this was not an issue at all. Linda encouraged us to make use of the hotel's on-site gym and pool facilities while we waited. The gym was well-equipped, and the pool was pleasantly warm with plenty of space for those wanting to swim lengths—definitely not overcrowded. After a relaxing swim, we returned to our room to freshen up before heading down for dinner. We both opted for the fish and chips, which were perfectly fine—exactly what you would expect from a chain hotel. The meal was satisfying, and the service was prompt. Overall, our stay at the Village Hotel Walsall was just what we needed, especially after a rather disappointing visit to the Titanic Exhibition earlier in the day. The hotel more than made up for it with its friendly staff, excellent facilities, and comfortable accommodation. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future!
I met a friend here for a catch-up over coffee. The entrance and seating area is well maintained. I highly recommend stopping here if you're catching up with someone for an informal business meeting. The only thing I would say is parking is free for 4 hours, which isn't that clear with the signs in the carpark, which is pushing you to download the app. Just inside the entrance is a kiosk to enter your reg details, which isn't that obvious.
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Firstly, Josh at the front desk is such a lovely soul. We are on our 3rd visit here now, and Josh had gone above and beyond to help us. He always greets us with a smile, and some great chat. If I could give Josh five stars I would!! The hotel is beautiful, amazing decor, the staff are all friendly and very welcoming. Very lovely bar and restaurant area, with amazing food. The Starbucks is a nice added touch! Amazing facilities. Lots of fun things to do. The rooms we have stayed in a club room, so can't comment on the others are beautiful. Very comfortable beds, great tea making facilities. The shower is perfect. Honestly, 5 stars isn't enough! Rooms: Great sizes, very comfortable beds, great vibe. Food & drinks: Lovely food! Great restaurant area
I stayed here with my two small assistant dogs this weekend and the reception and restaurant staff were all so accommodating and lovely. I have stayed at various village hotels but that staff here make the place. They are genuinely amazing people.Rooms: 5/5
It would have been a nice place when it was new but looks like it's not been maintained properly, corridor and room had a weird odor to it, rooms were dark and lights were not enough, toilet was really old and you can see it needs re doing. The bar though was on a different level when it comes to set up, large tv around with different sports on going, lots of seating and well lit area. Ky only gripe is that their service was slow and there was no system in the bar, even though you queued, big chance you won't get served on time, had to wait 15min to order my drinks.I had to ask one of the staff about it since they only tend to serve one side of the bar. My to go breakfast was not ready as well and had to be prepared even though I already ordered the night before. During that night there was like a gathering of some sort, drunk people were noisily walking down the corridors, didn't get a good sleep.
Excellent position just off the M6 junction 10, Free parking All you can eat breakfast, traditional English and continental, In a hurry then take a breakfast to go , Room was lovely and comfy and I requested a sofa on booking and the sofa was in the room in front of the TV, Lovely bed with either soft or hard pillows, If you want any extra toiletries etc then they supply free of charge toothbrush and paste. Shaving kits. And lots more essentials, I've seen reviews about the hotel being right beside the motorway and that you can here the traffic, but we were on the 1st floor and heard nothing overnight, Yes would highly recommend
Rooms were lacking AC, inadequate ventilation due to windows not opening. Far to hot in summer. Beds were comfortable though, but the temperature made it unbearable. Restaurant was missing a lot off the menu 90% of the vegetarian items, service at the bar was very poor staff shortages.... Waitress that served us however was 100% really nice and great with kids. Pool was faultless, family change was just 4 large disabled areas but still gets 10/10.
Member of the gym. Great facilities and welcoming, friendly staff. Only use the pool and it's never too busy. Would like the option of just a pool pass though rather than for both the gym and pool as have no real intention of using other facilities in all honesty.Service: 5/5
Shocking visit to this hotel, where I have stayed before and rated highly. I joined as a member so my parking was included, but it turns out I didn't make my booking "in the correct way". The receptionist told me she needed to take a card holding payment to cover any purchases during my stay but actually took £15 for 3 nights parking - using my card deceptively and without my permission. I filled out a hotel survey and followed up with a complaint 7 days ago and still had no response.
WARNING IF YOU ARE DISABLED AND WANT TO STAY HERE!! Recently visited this hotel and I was severally disappointed by the lack of facilities for the disabled. We were given an “accessible” room which was located at the far side of the hotel which was too far away for me to walk back and to. I tried to call reception 17 times, they finally answered on call 18 and I was told to come back to reception “immediately” so it could be discussed. We got down there and had to wait 10 minutes again stood there on crutches in pain waiting for the manager to show up. I asked him to confirm if all the disabled rooms are at the back of the property and if the rooms were all the same - he said yes they are all at the back and all the disabled rooms were the same. When I pointed out that there wasn’t even enough space for me to get down the side of my bed on crutches, never mind if I was in my wheelchair that day, and his response was “all the disabled rooms are the same size. They have handles in the bathroom and a walk in shower.” If I was in my wheelchair that day, I would of had to crawl to the bed and be lifted up as there was no way my wheelchair would of fit. When I pointed out that, if the rooms are advertised as accessible, they should have 1 meter turning circles for wheelchairs by the bed and in the bathroom but he just wasn’t interested. There was no way I could keep walking back and forth to the room at that distance so we were forced to change to a normal room as I could actually get to it, and deal with the humiliation of not being able to use the bathroom unassisted the normal room was actually bigger than the “accessible” room!! This company needs to realise that not all disabilities are the same and a lot of disabled people, including myself, can not walk that distance without causing severe pain. This totally ruined our weekend and I will never use this chain again, paid through the nose to be humiliated and not be able to do anything we planned to do. I recently finished chemo and this was supposed to be a night away to celebrate. We were even more shocked the next morning when we seen a full list of all the guests room numbers, full names, and booking details left out on a bar by the breakfast area, we no staff in sight, for anyone to go through! Rooms: “Accessible” rooms are a very long walk away, especially if you have mobility issues. They are also not accessible for wheelchairs
