These guys are awesome! I needed a ton of work done to make my bike road worthy and they sourced the parts and fitted them in under 5 days. Highly recommend and they're super cool guys that get the job done!
I visited the shop early on a cold and wet Sunday afternoon, 15 miles from home with a broken chain on my road bike. I had had to walk 2 miles to get there. The gent in the shop agreed to fix it ASAP - 90 minutes - did so and was friendly and pleasant to boot. Result was a working bike that I could ride home. Big thanks to him. Good service and a satisfied customer.
I have been in quite a few times over the years for various service and sales needs. I always feel the service has been fantastic, and I end up leaving with a lot of helpful information such as best bike routes for adults or children, tips on bicycling laws and safety, etc. Furthermore, I appreciate that the owners took the time to make sure we had to right gear, and didn't oversell me on features we wouldn't need. Would highly recommend.
Walked to this cycle shop after getting a puncture, as I wanted to ensure there was nothing wrong with my tire I had another few hours to go!. I was charged £17 to change an inner tube and told my tire was fine, but I got 5 minutes down the road and my tire was flat again. They don't know what they're doing!
Waited in the shop for nearly 20 minutes to be served. The one member of staff was serving another customer, which was fine but there was not even a "I'll be with you as soon as I can" it was as if we were invisible. I try and support local bike shops as much as I can but waiting for such a long period of time with zero interaction or acknowledgement is not the best customer experience.
Went there to get some cycling shoes and cleats and fix them on. Very quick service, the shop assistant explained to me different types of shoes and was very friendly. I left happy with my purchase and can't wait to go cycling.
We've just moved to the area and I was looking for a shop both to service my husbands bike as well as buy myself and our two children a bike . I'm so glad to have found the guys at Village Cycles . We got great service and have today all been out for a great ride . I could not be happier ! Great selection of bikes and I'll definitely be going back !
Absolutely useless. Firstly couldn't detect a simple crank noise issue on a BB30, even after having the bike for a week. Took it to Sigma in kingston and they then fixed it within 10 minutes!! Secondly, popped in to use a lock ring tool - charged my £8 just to tighten 1 ring! Absolute crooks. Goto Sigma, a million times better service.
Poor customer service. They seem mainly interested in selling new bikes rather than repairs. They took over a week to true a wheel, never informed me that the job was not done so I had to return 3 times. Not great!
I went into Village Cycles with my husband and 3 children to get my daughter sized for a bike as a birthday gift and buy a new pedal for an old bike. We are reluctant to buy online for a child for obvious reasons of safety & ability to use. We were also hoping to get our daughters’ cycling helmets looked at as one of them is always loose and we were thinking we are not adusting properly. The customer service was very poor. We politely asked if we could get our daughter sized for a bike. The response was “That would only be good for our bikes though.” In retrospect I am thinking he didn’t think we would buy a bike from him. The response was odd and very short. He then said he could look at her and estimate but I said I’d prefer she actually sat on a bike. He let her reluctantly. I asked him if he could look at my daughter’s helmet and he just gave me a blank look. To take away the awkwardness of the situation I said “Do you just think it’s not a very good one?” and he looked at me and said “It’s not a very good one.” He did so without even touching the helmet. I asked if he could recomend one and try it on her and he sighed as he was doing so and then put the helmet back on the rack witthout even asking if we wanted it. It was all very odd. His body language was as if he did not want us there. We tried to ask questions and probe a bit but the responses were short and one word answers if possible . Had he been enganging and offered information and explained things to us, we probably would have bought a bike. As it is, we left with a new pedal, a new helmet and no bikes. We will have to set out next weekend to find the bike. I won’t be going back here.
