Viking Bay in Broadstairs is a sandy beach less than a couple of hours from London by train. There are amenities such as toilets, food kiosks, showers and lifeguards. The beach itself is full of seaweeds so to me it did not make it the prettiest beach. Broadstairs itself was a very gentile town. There are several walking trails in the area which can be followed and is well sign posted. There is a Dickens museum, as Charles Dickens apparently loved staying in Broadstairs. On the clifftop there were various pop-ups selling a variety of goods. There is also a children's play area in the same vicinity. It is a lovely area and worth a visit for a day out with the kids. The toilets could be kept in better condition though.
Really nice sandy beach! We spent our whole afternoon there building sand castles and our little city! Water looks slightly murky though
Greetings. a beautiful beach, fine sand, close water. a wonderful area ... toilets, parking, terraces with food nearby. well worth seeing. I recommend.
Broadstairs If you are looking for a day by the seaside with everything that should be included, look no further... Broadstairs has it all! From golden sands, coloured beach huts, sticks of rock, and of course fish and chips by the abundance, you won't be disappointed. A day in Broadstairs really is like taking a step back in time, with all the history surrounding it as well there really is something for everyone. Broadstairs is very proud of its links to Charles Dickens, you won't go far without seeing either somewhere the famous writer lived or something named after him. Broadstairs even has old victorian rides which are fully working and to be enjoyed by everyone. All in all Broadstairs really is worth a visit and could even become your new favourite seaside town. Broadstairs... I'll be back!
Repaint the beach chalets, keep the lift open a bit longer and for goodness sake improve the toilet facilities. Other than that; great.
Very nice and pretty sandy beach! Lots of great food places nearby. We spent a whole afternoon here having a picnic and building sandcastles!
One of my favourite places by the sea. This place has plenty of options for food, drinks and even accommodation. The parking it just minutes away.
On a sunny warm day this place is like being in the med, one of the nicer beaches I've been to within a stone's throw of London.
Not as beautiful as Botany Bay, Kingsgate Bay, Jess Bay and Stone Bay thay are wild ... It's very over-populated with too many businesses. It's a very urban beach but English style I liked the sea hats but sea gulls are pretty wild here, if you eat they fly on you and also get your food away be careful it happened to me when I put down my take away box ...they stole it! Lol Nice fish and chips places and a few gift shops and art galleries are also worth a try!
Not a bad beach at all! Pleasant all year around area and not too overcrowded thanks to it attracting an older generation a little more in the area. Beware of visiting schools in July!
