This chemist constantly fob you off saying they don’t have prescriptions that were approved days earlier on the NHS site. The doctors confirmed that these are sent instantly to the chemist. I spend days on end going back as they never have medications in. There are a couple of members of staff that are just rude. Not a great experience at all.
I just wish thee front of house staff would stop telling people their prescriptions are ready on the phone and upon arriving at the pharmacy they are simply not. It' s a bit like the unprofessional taxi despatcher telling you 10 minutes, however blatantly untrue it is. There really is no need for this silliness. Please, shop assistants, stop saying this nonsense and learn to own the truth. I can say as an ex lecturer in pharmacology and pharmacokinetics that you are lagging behind the professionalism of other pharmacies. Please heed this and be honest. You will be more respected.
Very anxious about an alarmingly sudden eye condition on a day trip to New Brighton on a Saturday afternoon, my wife sought the guidance of Victoria Pharmacy’s friendly pharmacist. He examined the eye, took her blood pressure and diagnosed the problem as non urgent and non worrying subsequently confirmed by our GP. Superbly reassuring, extremely friendly: a great example of how we should turn to our local pharmacist rather than adding to the queues at A&E.
Went in after an accident and the staff were extremely helpful and the pharmacist checked the injury and reassured me explaining everything they were doing and what the gel they used was and how it helps and helped me calm down. Would definitely recommend purely due to staff being amazing people. There was a large selection of medicine available too.
This chemist is brilliant, the staff Jo and doctor are so helpful and knowledgeable. The shop was busy and I needed a hydrocolloid dressing following a cycling crash and the doctor quickly examined my hip injury, cleaned and dressed the wound and didn't charge for the service. So glad I called in by chance
My initial review still stands, however, I would like to qualify this as referring to the 'front of house' staff only i.e. not the pharmacists. On collecting my prescription I was seen by a very expert and knowledgeable pharmacist / doctor, she is let down by the rest of the staff. Initial review follows;- A service well below expectations. In a place where people are friendly and helpful Victoria pharmacy stands out as inefficient with abrupt, almost rude staff. On a couple of recent visits I have been told, very dismissively, that my prescription had not been sent from the Doctors it had and was found after a proper look and also I have been asked to come to pick up a prescription after a certain time only to be then told the items were not actually in stock. These are just a couple of examples of poor service that I have experienced, I will be going elsewhere in future.
This chemist has always been busy, bustling, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating in the almost 28 years I have used it. I recently had cause to have a side room consultation with Jo who has worked there for as long as I can remember regarding a skin issue that has been ongoing since having Covid January 2021. Jo was reassuring and extremely helpful - I took her advice and my GP swiftly referred me to hospital dermatologist and I am having a surgical procedure in Clatterbridge next week. This whole pharmacy - and especially Jo - are a valued part of our local community. Thank you Jo for your support and advice.
The friendliest place ever, lovely staff doing a sterling job in the current climate. Always there to help and have a smile on their faces. Reassuring Covid precautions are in place too.
I've used this pharmacy for years. I should have given them up a long time ago. I used to have my prescription sent from the doctors electronically. I'd give the pharmacy a few days but I'd still have to wait whilst they made it up. It's as though they aren't geared up to the 21st century. Anyway, I'll give Ellis and Son a try and report back at some point. Well I've been using W Y N Ellis and Son, Poulton Rd for a few weeks now and I've not been disappointed. I'll give them 5*. As an example, I requested my medication on line on Monday and picked it up Tuesday morning without problems. No hanging around or being asked to come back later or the next day.
The staff here are so friendly and helpful even when I have been grumpy! They stock lots of different cosmetics, which I can't resist! There is also a good choice of gifts for different ages and occasions.
