Went to the Southport Flower Show which I resisted for many years. It’s a good day out looking round a whole variety of stalls some with no apparent links to gardening. Very crowded with lots of queuing. On the last day everything is sold off at a knock down price so it’s a bit of a scrum. There are better alternatives to the official parking that comes at a high price and delays
Expansive, open, multi-use park, bordering on other more specific facilities. Well kept grass, lovely trees, and some beautiful old features. On a grey Winter’s Day, you can still see it’s beauty. What an asset to the local area!
Visited here for the British Musical Firework Championship, fantastic ground. Great facilities and well maintained.
Visited the luminate light show. Very well organised. The route was easy to follow and relatively clear and clean for the time of year, i was expecting soggy leaves and mud on the pathways also the public toilets were clean and tidy. All in all quite a decent experience for the family.
We visited the park last night for the Victoria Park Winter Light Trail. When we went last night around 7.45pm we more or less had it all to ourselves. Fabulous Light show which we all enjoyed thoroughly.
For a long walk round with your dog this is a nice place to go to on the weekends. Other times in the summer we have festivals on.
Love the garden at Southport for events. This time I was at the flower show. Which is well worth a visit. Hoping to go back next year. The fireworks display in September is well worth a visit too. Dog-friendliness: Plenty of dogs on leads at the event. Picnic area: Lots of areas to eat and rest some with free entertainment. You can book afternoon tea in the primer tent.
The park is lovely and spotless, but the gates around have not been open all weekend!! We stayed at the caravan club site at the far end, couldn't get through, only the main gate at the other side was open all weekend????? Very disappointing
Had a lovely little walk with my grand daughter, the first time we'd been there , so pleasant , people walking their dogs, families with kids , lovely little lake , people playing bowls , the sun was shining, what could be better!!
Lovely open park, well maintained. Dogs are allowed off lead, without the dreaded dog police spoiling your day. Sefton Council are not in charge of this park, which is why it is so well maintained.
