Purchased a mattress and bed from Vic Smith as it was recommended by other friends, however on purchase after 6 months time the mattress had produced a bulge on one corner reducing the total durability of the mattress. Due to this bulge it is now rendered unusable on one side so it cannot even be flipped as per the instructions. This is very displeasing as I have also tried to contact Vic the owner of the company and have been told that this is due to the bed being sat on when it has not been ever used for anything of the such. Furthermore, other friends/family have used this bed for 5-10 years and this has not happened to them. He will not take liability that this is a manufacturing fault and refuses to come to an agreement to resolve this issue. To buy such an expensive item and not be able to use it for even half of the time it should be used when the cost of the mattress alone is £1300 is very disappointing. Item purchased was a king size tencel mattress. Would not advise anyone to buy this item as he will not be supportive if there are any manufacturing defects. Pictures attached. Edit in response: The bed purchased was actually for my parents and not for me and had nothing to do with being moved. If you look back at the invoice you’ll see that the house you came to visit and the invoice is at the same address. I don’t appreciate the comment of relationship issues when this has nothing to do with it. Furthermore you are a disgrace of a business to bring up someone’s ’relationship issues’ when you know nothing of it and make wild assumptions just to belittle a customer when the fault is due to a manufacturing defect that you won’t own up to. What a disgrace. I would NOT advise anyone to shop here as you can buy the same items he has at numerous other businesses that will actually own up to faults. Disgraced by your response to say the least.
What a brilliant shop. They are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about their products, kind and patient while testing out mattresses and nothing was too much trouble. Delivery was within a week and the delivery was professional and on time. I wouldn’t say the we’re dearer or cheaper than other larger high street suppliers but the service was amazing, and it was great to support local businesses. Very happy customers
We recently bought a mattress from the Southgate branch, from Vic himself. The service was friendly and first class. Vic spent a lot of time making sure that we chose the mattress best suited to our needs. Price was competitive, and delivery was swift and efficient they even took away the old mattress. Excellent shop and delivery. Very friendly staff. We had ordered two beds and headboards to be delivered before Christmas . They rang us in the morning saying the headboards had been received but were damaged so they delivered our beds as agreed and called back a couple of days later with the headboards! Excellent service
Bought a few mattresses from Vic Smiths beds over the years and it’s the best thing I have ever done! I have recommended his company to all of my friends and family and we all now own a Vic Smiths bed! I would never go anywhere else, the products are the best, the service from the staff in the shop and also delivery guys is excellent, can’t fault them.
I initially ordered a bed from a well known multiple trader however on arrival the bed was damaged and couldn't get another delivery slot for 4 weeks. This is when I called Vic Smith, not only was the lady understanding she bent over backwards to help and assist me. I received the bed within two days, and I must add it was cheaper and better quality. Honestly second to none, would recommend highly. I for one have learnt my lesson and will always use a family run business. Thank you
What a breath of fresh air! Having toured the big chain bed stores, I happened into Vic Smith Beds. I must say the staff are very friendly and helpful. From purchase to delivery in 2 days!! The delivery team are excellent very careful and even took my old bed away free of charge. I just wish more companies provided this level of service. Thank you so much. I thought I would ad a little update to my review. I have had my bed for some time now and it is still as comfortable as ever, definitely one of my better buys. I always recommend Vic Smith Beds to my friends and a few have bought. Although I will have to urge them to post a review to spread the word of the super service and that it pays to shop local!!
My father recommended Vic Smith to me when buying my first bed. I have to say, this is by far the nicest, most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic quality bed at a very reasonable price! The delivery was on time and the delivery people were lovely and very helpful as well.
