We have had a great experience working with Rob throughout a full house renovation project. From the outset he created designs that made the very best of the space. Bringing in new ideas to make the flow of the house sing to its maximum. Rob stayed with us throughout the build, introducing us to many skilled people and businesses to help us create the perfect iteration of the design we wanted. He also was on hand throughout the project to answer any questions we had, or to help us out with any of the hiccups that tend occur during a construction of this size. Rob provides a professional and truly end to end service and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to others.
We have just completed our kitchen/ground floor renovation with Urbane. The whole process has been so easy, and the result is magnificent. Rob ensured we had everything we needed to make the design work. We went through a number of redesigns with him so we had the space we wanted. His service also ensured we had a proper statement of works for builders to quote from ensuring nothing was missed or misunderstood. He was able to recommend people to carry out the works and where to get things like our windows. The whole experience was very smooth and everything just worked. I am sat now in my new kitchen competly in love with the space we have created. Edit: 3 months later Our kitchen is magnificent, it is airy and light, as the months have changed, are getting to see how it change with the seasons and it is just improving. Our enormous window and the whole space feels so much bigger than others I have seen with very similar foot prints, and I am sure it is because of the design, the attention to how the room is structured with the steel, the height and everything.
We enlisted Rob at Urbane in 2020 to design and create drawings for an extension and garden office for our flat in West London. He has been professional and a great communicator from the beginning. We had some wild ideas and he was able to advise us on what would and wouldn’t be permitted under planning regulations in our borough, which helped to inform our designs. He offered up several suggestions during the early stages and was a great sounding board to discuss the ideas we had and hone our plans. Our drawings were submitted to the planning office and were approved with ease. We completed the first portion of that build in 2021 using one of Rob’s recommended builders. The builder was great and completed the work to a high standard, on time and on budget. A relief when we had a baby on the way. Since then we have revised our plans and needed new drawings for our extension. Rob turned around the revised drawings quickly and has been a great source of knowledge on what is achievable and workable within the rules and regs. His designs are well thought out and considered, whilst adding a unique style. He’s always my go-to recommendation when anyone says they need an architect. Looking forward to working with him again next time we take on a project.
We just completed our redo of our extension and whole house refurb. Couldn’t have done it without Robert’s help - he was great with the design, receptive to our ideas as well, very responsive, very patient and calm helping us navigate our way. He has good contact of suppliers and builders and our project was completed on time. Highly recommended.
We commissioned Urbane in 2023 to design and oversee a side return extension and are delighted with the results. Rob dealt with all the planning side of things, including walking through all the necessary utilities permits and surveys and providing a range of design options for our awkward shaped house. The recommended builders PCG were great to work with throughout the project and the finished spec is spot on. Overall would recommend for future works - thanks Rob!
Rob did a great job in realising our spatial planning ideas. It’s exactly how we described in our initial meeting. He was has a very reliable book of contractors taking the stress out of the tender process.
Robert offers a very professional service. His vision for the space was aligned with ours, so that is why we wanted to work with him to fully renovate our house. He advised us that we could reconfigure the loft conversion under permitted development and go down the planning application route for the single story rear extension. He drew up plans, providing various different options, and was open to our suggestions for changes. Robert drew up our plans, submitted our applications and ran our tender process to select an appropriate builder. We were very happy with Robert's services.
Rob has been fantastic to work with - first class! He has patiently guided us through a full remodel of our west London home, including basement, ground floor extension and full refurb. His support and advice has been invaluable. He has an excellent network of builders and suppliers, a strong understand of local planning requirements and I would highly recommend him to anyone else looking to do a similar project.

Thankyou also for dealing so patiently with the planning application which eventually came through and the buyer was delighted with that too. We worked with Rob over a course of 12 months on a complete renovation of a house in West London which involved basement conversion, rear extension, dormer and internal remodelling of the layout. Rob was very professional and quick to respond but more importantly came up with lots of ideas from which we were able to choose the final layout. He also helped us make some tough choices when it came to prioritising where we wanted to invest our renovation budget. It was a pleasure to work with Rob. Now we need a bit of a break from renovation work :- but if we ever decide to take on another project, we would definitely want to work with Rob again. Highly recommended!
