There are stylish clothes, but IMO too expensive for what they are. You’re paying for the brand and name, not the quality. Even when goods are on sale, nothing I can buy that is worth the price tag, unfortunately.
I had a pushing experience in urban outfitters today. The staff were very rude. I tried on a pair of jeans and she insisted that I hung up my own clothes from the fitting room. But I thought that was her job? She didn’t make any other customers do it exept me and my friend. It didn’t feel nice.
**LONG REVIEW ALERT** I usually don't write reviews, but Urban Outfitters really pushed me to the edge this time! Like many other reviewers have mentioned, avoid this branch at all costs. They have ZERO customer service, and honestly, there might be some microaggressions involved too. For context, I’m a Chinese Canadian currently pursuing my master’s degree in London, and I’ve spent a good few hundred pounds at UO this year alone. On July 15th, I visited this store to buy dresses for my graduation photo shoot. Not a single staff member offered to help me find what I needed, except for one kind Asian lady I wish I got her name—kudos to her!. Before leaving, I spotted a really cute Kimchi Blue Corset top. Since I had already spent too much time trying on dresses and didn’t want to deal with the long fitting room queue again, I just grabbed a size M, paid, and left. When I tried it on at home, I realized the M was a bit too big, so I went back to the store on July 29th to exchange it for a size S. I approached the staff at the till on the 2nd floor with the corset and my original receipt. The staff member, a Black guy, took them and told me it would be easier if I just grabbed the smaller size and rebought it, so that’s what I did. I even bought another piece of clothing while I was there. However, when I was almost home, I realized he hadn’t mentioned anything about my refund, meaning I was charged twice. I went back to the store on that hot day and asked him about it. He carelessly told me that the money would automatically go back to my original payment method as long as I paid with the same card. Fast forward 10 days later—yesterday, August 8th—I still hadn’t received my refund. I went back to the store and spoke to a different staff member at the same till. This time, a female employee listened to me with an annoyed expression, as if I was lying. I didn’t bring the receipt for the size S corset because I had already given them the original receipt. The lady informed me that she could only issue a refund in the form of a gift card, but I’m heading back to Canada soon, where the gift card would be useless. She then told me I would have to come back AGAIN tomorrow with the receipt. So here I am today, and after speaking with the service manager, I finally got my money back. It turns out they did not refund me at all before today. At this point, I don’t even care about the £35—I just pushed for it because I was so angry, and I deserve that refund. How can their management be this chaotic and make such a simple task so complicated? Do better, Urban Outfitters. I’m never stepping foot in this store again.
The Oxford Street London branch has such awful and rude staff. I went in yesterday, after work, at around 7 so it was a lot quieter. I pick up some items, avoiding the absolute chaos that is the sales section where there are more clothes than floor, and went to try them on. While I was in there I asked if I can have a smaller size of the skirt that I tried on and I was met with ‘the only way you can get another size is if you go to the till’. In any other shop they would radio someone to find the item for you but no, you have to get dress, go to the tills to get and item and then either pay and hope it fits or go back to the changing rooms? I then went to the tills and asked for a different size for the girl behind the till to sigh and then radio someone. They didn’t have the size so she said ‘urgh, well are you going to take this size then’ …umm no…it doesn’t fit? I also had picked up a 2 homeware items from the sale section both with sale sticker prices on. One of them ALSO said hand written20% off when you go to the till as well as the sale price stick. When I asked about this the woman smirked at me and said ‘well it is only £5’ and I said why is there an extra sticker on when none of the other for sale items don’t have this. She said ‘well it would be put on if there’s damage but I don’t see any- you can go get another one’ and I explained that every other version of this item had the same hand written sticker. I either think this girl couldn’t be bothered or didn’t know how to reduce the price but I can’t see a reason for there to be extra stickers explaining further discount. She then proceeds to drop the item and quickly put it through so I can pay, I assume hoping I hadn’t realised. She then worked out that my two fragile items, both pottery, had to be wrapped for protection and she had a measly piece of paper left. Instead of going to another floor to get more paper or radioing a colleague she just stuffed them in my bag balanced on top of a shirt I also bought. So for the rest of my journey home I had to hold it tight as they were banging together and I was worried they’d break. I don’t know if it’s a poorly run shop, they are badly trained or if they’re just bone idle but I would highly recommend going to a different branch.
The fitting room male asked me to hang my own clothes, wasn't it his job to hang clothes?? And a lot of people didn't hang up, so why do I have to? I did his job. What did he do?
awful customer service from the staff downstairs when i went to pick up a parcel on 30/5/24. not sure her name but she was incredibly rude and sighing when she actually had to do work, i could hear her swearing and complaining about going upstairs to get the parcel. and then it took ages! i wonder why? the man working with her was slightly better but it didn’t make up for it.
I literally loved this shop! It has such a nice vibe! It’s got four floors and there’s big discounts too! The Mens section is also quite big on the bottom floor.
I bought two shoes before a month and they gave me the wrong size. I removed them out of the box to put them in a luggage because it was for my wife who lives abroad. After I realised that I was given the wrong size in one of them, I came back to change the correct size but they wouldn't let me. The reason they gave me is that they are not in a box. I had to throw brand new shoes because they are not in a box. What a shame
An otherwise decent shopping experience ruined by the rudest member of staff I have ever encountered Rihanna. I have no problem queueing for fitting rooms when busy, but when 80% of them are closed and you've been standing for 15+ minutes waiting to try on 2 t-shirts and Rihanna - who is standing around on her phone - lies to people queueing as to why the majority are closed broken doors she said and 5 minutes later after people started to complain they were miraculously all fixed and open, with no apology for the wait. When I politely asked Rihanna about this, she immediately became aggressive and confrontational and walked away from me whilst I was talking to her, and then proceeded to stomp over to the counter to talk about me with other members of staff... in front of me!! Why this store employs someone with so much attitude and a huge ego problem in a 'customer service' role is beyond comprehension. I would not shop here again because of this experience and the way their staff make you feel unwelcome. Only reason I didn't give 1 star is because they sell some cool stuff here and other staff members were polite. A shame really that Rihanna had to ruin the experience.
One of the very few Urban outfitters outside of the United States. Due to its close proximity to Oxford Circus this is an extremely busy store however it has some fantastic clothes for younger people my kids on top of the clothes they also have a very nice selection of pop culture toys and candies et cetera. A very good brand and I hope to see more of them in the United Kingdom
