Making customers wait 20 minutes to use a fitting room whilst there was 6 empty ones on the floor above I could directly see is not good customer service. Not even a “thank you for waiting”. A lot of the staff look like teenagers that need more training on customer service as it was seriously lacking on my trip today.
I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service I recently received at Urban Outfitters. My friend and I were subjected to an incredibly uncomfortable experience due to the unprofessional behavior exhibited by two female employees working during our visit. The entire time we were in the store, these employees engaged in negative and inappropriate gossip about us, making disparaging remarks such as, "Why would somebody get this many things?" and "She's probably not going to buy anything." To clarify, I spent over £300 in your store, contributing directly to these employees' wages. One of the employees, who sported a Y2K style with back dermal piercings and pencil-thin brows, along with her colleague, who was white and plus-sized, behaved in a manner that was both childish and unprofessional. It is astonishing that grown adults would choose to engage in such immature and rude conduct, especially towards customers. Even more concerning was the fact that these employees made rude and inappropriate remarks about my friend’s physical appearance. This not only reflects a complete lack of respect and professionalism but also had a deeply negative impact on my friend, leaving her feeling insecure and extremely self-conscious for the remainder of the day. Such behavior is completely unacceptable in any setting, let alone in a customer service environment. It is imperative to emphasize that discussing customers in a negative light while they are present on the premises is entirely unacceptable. Moreover, speaking ill of anyone without knowing the full context or truth is unprofessional and reflects poorly on your establishment. Not only did these two employees talk about me, but they were also overheard speaking negatively about another coworker, making comments that I could not, in good conscience, repeat here. I was further appalled when my friend had to hang up clothes on the rail— a task that is clearly the responsibility of your employees. This incident underscores a severe lack of attention to customer service and basic job responsibilities on the part of these individuals. Their behavior was not only unprofessional but also deceitful, as they made snarky remarks behind our backs while pretending to be polite to our faces. This kind of conduct is not only fake but reflects poorly on the integrity of your staff. It is important to note that outer appearances mean very little if one’s behavior does not match the same standard of professionalism. I will not be returning to this Urban Outfitters location and expect a formal response detailing the actions that will be taken to address the behavior of these employees. Their actions not only marred my experience but also potentially jeopardized the reputation of your store. Immediate corrective measures, whether it be further training, disciplinary actions, or termination, are warranted to ensure this does not happen to another customer. - And to the childish, pathetic excuses of ‘women’ you don’t know me personally, and you never will. Don’t talk on a name you don’t know.
Worst fitting rooms in Manchester. If I could give minus I would - the black girl working in the changing rooms this evening was extremely rude, short tempered. Don’t bother telling people to ‘have a nice day’ if you’re going to be short the entire time they're using the fitting rooms and muttering under your breath. All of the staff in the fitting rooms each time we’ve been there have such an attitude. Don’t work in retail if you can’t deal with customers in a polite manner. Others in the changing rooms were v uncomfortable by her demeanour. If it happens again, I will make an in-store complaint.
Placed an order online for collection. When I first came in two people behind the collection desk were both struggling with separate orders, to the point where it took so long that I had to leave and come back. When I came back, my order couldn’t be found anywhere. The entire click & collect system doesn’t seem to be working.
Styling is cool, but sizing is not. For men the largest size is large for tops, etc and 36" waist. For women is max size is 12.
Kind of expensive, but I visit it when there are discounts. Lots of fashionable and stylish clothes. Some stuff were friendly, and one must have been a bit tired. I bought a nice T-shirt and pants and together it was near 80 pounds. Also fitting rooms are very dirty 6.5/10 for me
Found the service today very poor. Staff on check outs ignoring customers busying themselves with other tasks no matter how long it took for the one serving to deal with a problem customer at the head of the line
I used to enjoy shopping at UO because of the quality products. But I didn’t have a great customer experience. The fitting room queue is 45mins for 10 people in front of me. Really disappointing.
We went to check what they've got but didn't buy anything. They had some good stuff on sale.
Several months ago, I took a scarf to the till of the Manchester branch, only to find that it was covered in sticky bubble gum. It was so soiled that I wasn’t offered a price reduction and the assistant said they would dispose of it. A month or so later, I was in the shop again and spotted what I thought was another scarf in the same design. It was tightly folded. As I unfolded it, I discovered it was exactly the same scarf, partly on sight but also because my hands now felt sticky and smelt of the gum. I handed the scarf to an assistant and explained that I’d been told it wouldn’t be put back out on the shop floor. She was very pleasant and apologetic, and also told me the scarf would be disposed of. Today, about a month on, I was back in the shop and saw the same scarf out again! This time it wasn’t tightly folded. It was hanging on a display rack with the dried gum on display. I didn’t point it out to staff as, based on previous experience, I wasn’t confident it would be acted on. I don’t know whether this was just negligence or deliberate but whichever way, it’s not acceptable to keep putting out soiled and unhygienic goods at full price on the shop floor. Photos attached.
