Good place to study! You don't have to be a student of the university to study here either... Simply ask for a free day pass at reception. Only gave 3 stars because the gents toilets are quite revolting. They need to employ better cleaners in this place.

Whether or not you get a seat depends on your luck really. And not all seats have plugs to charge your laptop which is the annoying thing. Other than that it's alright. Textbooks always hogged by other students...

Warwick university's library is a terrible place to try and study in. Firstly, although the library boasts five floors, it has limited seating due to the library's decision to store huge volumes of books and journals (most of which go unused by the modern student) on site. The number of seats is insufficient to service the proportion of Warwick's 24,683 students that would arrive during peak library hours. Secondly, the library has rules but they are not enforced. The quiet study areas are often plagued by students talking in amongst the rows of bookshelves and people eating loud snacks. I regularly see students leaving books on desks to save seats. They leave the library and only return two (sometimes three) hours later to play on their phones. And then they give you that "I'm in WBS" look. I don't care that you're doing an MSc in Marketing & Strategy or even the MSc in Finance. You're not going to change the world buddy, you know it, I know it and everyone that sees you walk into your lectures in a suit knows it. So get your goddamn copies off that free desk or else I'll throw them out the window and watch them fall to the ground, just like your hopes and dreams when you realise a cheap suit and the name of your business course can't help you get a job in the real world. Finally, the library is open 24 hours. So why then does the library employ cleaners to clean at 6-7am and vacuum around the desks when the first students begin to arrive in the morning? The library cleaning staff also seem to have thriving social lives, conversing loudly or answering abundant phone calls at this hour. Why isn't the library cleaned between 3-4am when you are guaranteed the library has the least number of students in it? Also, the cleaners decide to clean the main bathrooms for the library at 8:30 - 10am, by which time students have arrived in the library and will need toilet facilities to be accessible. Why isn't the cleaning done at 3-4am? Apart from their Shawshank-esque seating arrangements, their escalating problem with soon-to-be "The Apprentice" applicants taking up free seats and their socialite cleaning staff, the library has some "good" things going in it's favour. 1) They sell crisps downstairs so you can buy them to consume in the quiet sections of the library, annoying random strangers and causing any adjacent friends to truly reconsider their friendship with you. Seriously, how arrogant must you be to eat crunchy snacks in the quiet section? The world doesn't revolve around you... but it will soon if you keep eating those crisps fatty. 2) It only has one entrance (where people casually stand in your way) to choose from and that absence of choice means there's one less critical decision you'll need to make in life (ahh...satisfaction). 3) A number of library staff spend their day playing on computers near the front entrance (well it takes a team to update the library twitter account I suppose) which is great. You get to see your £9000 of student fees being put their most productive uses. Jeremy Corbyn will weep at this redistribution of wealth from penniless student to clearly deserving twitter monkey and who doesn't love to get one over on that socialist "haha! take that you communist!". 4) It only smells like greasy British fish and chips on Fridays (every Friday...like some sick joke) which gives you six whole days of the week where you're not subjected to that odour (that's not enough freedom from it). Who would wish to deny you such a raw British experience (probably the creators of the Geneva Protocol, you know the one that bans the use of chemical weapons)? Not the Warwick library staff that's for sure!
