The official Facebook page for the University of Leicester Jiu Jitsu Club!
Jiu Jitsu is the art of the Samurai from ancient Japan. It focuses on the principles of flow and body movement, thus enabling an individual to perform the techniques regardless of size or strength. Our style is based on a battlefield system and looks at dealing with single or multiple, armed or unarmed assailants.
Jiu Jitsu at the University of Leicester consists of four main arts: empty hand (ju jutsu), staff (bo jutsu), sword (ken jutsu) and flexible weapons (kusari jutsu).
All sessions are taught in a friendly and approachable environment and sessions cater for absolute beginners. Your first session is free.
The club is very sociable with events occurring every two weeks and drinks at the end of each training session. This helps members of the club to get to know each other and establish a trust that is essential to solid martial art training.
