I am writing to formally set out a number of concerns relating to my experience as a part-time online student and the subsequent handling of my personal data.nnI did not initially raise these matters, as I hoped they could be resolved informally. However, I became increasingly concerned after discovering that my personal data appears to have been shared with third parties, including debt collection agencies. This has prompted me to reflect more carefully on the wider issues outlined below.nnI commenced my part-time online degree in 2020, just for developing my personal interest. In practice, the programme functioned largely as self-directed study. No live teaching sessions were delivered, and the VLE Blackboard was poorly structured, with repetitive and duplicated materials. It appeared that the transition to online delivery during COVID-19 was undertaken without adequate preparation, and many academic staff lacked experience in digital teaching.nnDuring my studies, I was required to complete the same module twice, including submitting the same assessment twice. I was informed this was due to industrial action; however, my initial submission was ultimately marked at 72. This raises concerns regarding both academic process and administrative consistency.nnIn my second year, I observed that identical or near-identical learning materials were reused across modules with different titles. In some cases, assessment questions were also repeated across modules. This created an unreasonable expectation for students to produce distinct academic outputs in response to substantially the same content and assessment briefs.nnAs an academic currently working within a UK higher education institution, I am fully aware of the pressures faced by teaching staff, particularly during the pandemic. I encountered several committed and responsible academics during my studies. However, my concerns relate primarily to administrative, structural, and governance issues, which give the impression of a system focused more on revenue generation than on academic integrity or student experience.nnGood luck to them and I will not recommend this university to any of my students and others.
I attended the hard life concert and they was great! the venue wasn’t as accessible as i was told as not one person attending was respective of the disabled area that was cornered off. Security was informed and did nothing to help.nplease sort this out so more people with access needs can attend in the future.
I used to study here and I've got to say this is the best place for building a career life and a solid foundation that has catalysed my success in my exams. I still remember the endless hours I used to spend studying at Highgrove House, Beaumont House, Digby Hall, the village and a couple of places on Manor Road.
