Appalling service barely worthy of one star. Took my car to them with an engine problem. They informed me that the engine was fine and just needed oil in it. When I started the car it was incredibly noisy and blatantly obvious to anyone with a pair of ears that the car was not fine at all so I took it to another Renault garage where it had £1,400 worth of work done on it. They're also expensive on services too. Without doubt the most incompetent and unprofessional business I have ever dealt with.
I have always had excellent service from this garage. We have had several cars from them and they always do all the servicing and MOT. I've always been asked before they do any extra work
First class servicing and customer service We have been taking our vehicles to Universal Garage for 30 years plus. The service is second to none and all the staff and Ivor the owner are exceptional. They collect and deliver back our vehicle at no extra cost to the customer and our car always comes back vacuumed and washed. I can only imagine that the previous negative comments are from someone who wants quantity and not QUALITY. Excellent Service!!
I am so disappointed in the service I received that one star seems too high. They had my car for 8 weeks and 1 day. They diagnosed the fault within a week but got the wrong part 3 times. For a Renault specialist, I find this a bit of a joke. They never gave me updates, it was always me chasing them. Elizabeth on reception is very abrupt funnily enough, she's given the business 5* on Google reviews- bit biased. They then took it upon themselves to do the MOT, without informing me. I only found out by dropping by on the off chance they'd have an update for me. I asked them to call me BEFORE any work was carried out, yet carried out all of the MOT work without informing me. The price they gave me was over £100 more than Whitby Tyres & Exhaust which is on the same industrial estate. Take my advice, taking your car to Universal Garage really isn't worth the stress and hassle.
I had my car serviced here and it was miles better than the Renault dealer, Evans Halshaw! Evans Halshaw sent it back without servicing it even though it was booked in online for a service, they literally just changed the oil? Took it here to Universal Garage and they were polite and efficient and charged less too! Coffee was also provided whilst you wait.
Very poor customer service tried to get a repair done on my Laguna with a warranty but it wasn't until after I had committed to paying for a diagnostic test they insisted on using their parts and not ones supplied by the warranty company so I paid out for nothing and still have my car off the road. Other things to mention, the lady at reception could hardly tear herself away from her internet shopping to talk with us! And why has there been a rifle lent against the wall in reception? I expected it to be top notch but it was bargain basement.
Well this 1 star is definitely to much I'm so disappointed with the customer service turned up tonight to buy the car I won on ebay to find out there was more damage than stated in the post and the man was so rude and asked me what didnt I understand about cash on colection we are in the middle of a global pandemic . After being told over the phone bank transfer was ok so rude I cant even put in to words PLEASE dont go to this garage on your own luckily I had my husband and brother with me today but definitely not a nice man
When Mercedes were Useless this Renault Garage were really helpful and switched on. Whilst on Holiday I got an Oil Warning Light on My Mercedes Citan, Mercedes were comical in their attempts to tell me which Oil I needed to the point I gave up, but then found this Renault Garage who had me sorted in minutes. The Citan is actually A Kangoo .. lucky for me ... Thanks for your help ...
