This is a nice and cosy place. However, I think a takeaway would be more appropriate to eat at home comfortably than to eat in. The food is delicious and very tasty ! Nevertheless, there is too much traffic with people passing by, and the cars being too close to enjoy the food fully. The diversity of the food and drink is very nicely laid out with so many choices on display. However, before ordering, make sure that they have the main dish available. The staff was very friendly and nice. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian option is very good and simple.
I can only really rate this on the food and the service as I’ve only bought food to take away. The roti is amazing, the flavours in their curries is very authentic Guyanese food. The only thing I would suggest, is if you want something specific to call up and check if they have it before you make the journey. I do believe they have GF options but this would need to be checked. The restaurant is on a road that has permits so it driving it’s a hop in and hop out situation!
Love the food here. The owner is a lovely woman and very passionate about the service she provides. Never had beef curry before but it didn't disappoint.Food: 5/5
Very affordable and great portion sizes. Lovely vegan and gluten free options. I drove an hour to try her food out after seeing her videos on Tiktok. I was not disappointed at all. Very pleasant and lovely lady selling authentic Guyanese food, 10/10. Full of love and flavour. Everything tasted fresh and nice. I look forward to coming back here soon. My new fav roti spot! Hands down the best! You must try for yourself. Delicious! Vegetarian options: Rice, cake, roti, chickpeas, pumpkin, veg, pattie Dietary restrictions: Vegan, gluten free, vegetarian
I hate to leave a bad review but the food was terrible. I got two lamb currys with rice totalling to £32, which is alot of money but the good reviews swayed me. The lamb dish had alot more potato than I would have liked, the flavoruing has absolutely no spice the staff serving did offer to douse it with hot pepper sauce, I prefer my meat to be seasoned and cooked in it it was so bland for Caribbean food sadly. Ultimately the lamb was sooo sooo dry which I can't stress enough, it was devastating especially after paying so much, and it may as well have been beef it was that bad. The photos in the reviews practically show you how dry it was. The staff and the owner were very polite and attentive, the hospitality was 8/10. If this represents Guyanese food, I'll be sure to steer clear in future
Absolutely fantastic food not to be missed. Debbie and junior make delicious patties and roti too. Try out their homemade drinks they are healthy and nutritious. Customer service is first class and other outlets need to follow how to look after your Customers. Keep up the good work and love you lots!Food: 5/5
Never I've never tried Guyanese cuisine before, it was the best Caribbean food I've ever had so far, a beautiful and tasty menu to satisfy all you dietary preferences a real 10/10. Also please if you can help them with the petition it's unfair what they've been going through in the last 10 years! I highly recommend it, it won't disappoint you. I'll go back every time I'll visit London for sure
This food was simply incredible. I got the chickpea, pumpkin, spinach and potato roti. The flavours were stunning and the bread was delicious. The vibe of the place was so so so cool as there was a DJ there too. Defo will go back and try the salt fish roti. However… service is a bit slow, so keep in mind if you’re in a rush, but honestly so worth the wait
Umana Yana serves not only some of the best roti I’ve ever had, but some of the best food in the city. I always make a point to come here when I’m in the area. I like to get the pumpkin or aubergine with chicken, but have also had and enjoyed other items as well. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and it’s always good vibes in the shop. I have eaten at the small table in front when in a rush, but also love to take them across the street to Brockwell Park. Can’t recommend highly enough, this is a treasured local business.
We had the goat curry and the fish stew with roti, salt fish fritter and a jerk chicken patty and it was delicious. Super friendly staff, well seasoned food and the fish stew was perfectly cooked best I've ever had definitely worth the wait. Not much seating but we went to eat in the park nearby and it was lovely.
