Loved Ullapool, well worth the long drive! Arrived to the sights & sounds of the local pipe band having a march rehearsal it was fabulous!! Stayed at the Caledonia Hotel. Lots to see and do here. We took a trip to The Summer Isles and would highly recommend you add Ullapool to your bucket list..
Stunning fishing village, would be lovely in nice weather. Everyone kind and friendly. Small high street close to train station with post office and all usual amenities. Very relaxing to watch the fishing boats on the lake and the ferry port and bus station are right near the train station for easy connections.
A beautiful place. It was our first time here and we were really enchanted. Wonderful fish and chip restaurants. Interesting, quirky shops - of course there was the usual tourist things to buy but there was so much more. On a practical level there was a supermarket so we could replenish our stocks for the following nights at a campsite.
Always enjoy time in the 'pool ... the Gateway to the Hebrides... from arriving, to parking, to getting on ferry all was enjoyable and the Sun Shone bright, tho that is harder to guarantee lol
I love to be here. I want to be for longer or live here. The weather is fussy, but I don't care. Unique landscape; I warmly recommend it.
Lovely little place, peaceful and relaxing. I Used it as a stop off point before heading more north. There's a couple of streets the locals call the tourist roads, they have souvenir shops and a nice fish shop. Theres have boat trips and a ferry station.
Nice wee place. Some nice shops and cafes. Just a pity so many were closed. Museum is small and is £5 entry fee so we didn't bother. A lot of shops have the familiar tourist stuff on sale.
Lovely fishing village that wasn't very busy. The people we met were very friendly
Beautiful place looking forward to going back maybe next hope on boat to stone away
Lovely setting. Just a one night stopover, but met some really friendly local people. Could happily have spent much longer there. Really enjoyed the waterfalls just south of the town.
