Perfect base for exploring Porthmadog & surrounds. Well kept site with good facilities & dog friendly. On site pub. Large pitches & helpful staff. Accommodated late arrival & an unscheduled 2nd night without any fuss. Would stay again without any hesitation. Thanks for a lovely time in your park
Stopped here years ago by accident, at the time the weather was having a hissy fit and would not stop raining. We set up our frame tent around our cat to try to keep a bit dry and to light up what we were trying to do due to it being pitch black. Anyhow we managed to get set up and because of the late hour decided to bed down. Following a heavy sleep we were delighted to see the rain had stopped and the sunlight was streaming through the canvas. We opened the doors and windows and could not believe our eyes if we had been given the choice of pitch anywhere in the country, no the world, we could not have picked a better one. The view was stunning and the site delightful. Loved it.
Lovely site well maintained toilets spotless was shown to our pitch by one of the staff Paul I think very helpful and pleasant helped me reverse into the pitch, the grey water grid on the serviced pitch was a distance away from my waste outlet but fortunately I had some lengths of waste pipe and fittings but short of a socket so Paul went and got one for me he then went hunting for some blocks to support the pipe. The 50p a shower didn’t bother us we used our own shower and the rubbish bin being far away wasn’t a problem as we put it in on our way out which was most days, I noticed an electric cable going to the skip and thought they probably burn the rubbish so that would be the reason for keeping it far away from the pitches, smoke and no recycling apart from glass bottles. I was going to say it was a quiet site, which it was through the week, but a loud couple on PL4 pitch seasonal pitch who must go at the weekends were talking really loud swearing and laughing till 1:30 in the morning I shouted asking them could they keep the noise down please but they went even louder, we didn’t get a night number for the site so had to put up with it. I would definitely return though hopefully PL4 will have been sorted as I did complain the next morning my other gripe was paying for wi-fi that was hopeless. Great central position for beautiful North Wales.
Pleasant quiet site with nice views and decent bar onsite which does food. 15min walk to town uphill on way back but bus stop next to site if you need it. All staff encountered were very friendly and helpful.
Short answer: yes we'd recommend this site. Longer answer: For US we found the hills a bit much, we have a motorhome and depend on local buses, which is very infrequent and you still have a steep climb back to the site, walking into town and back was a killer, so we decided to use a taxi, which was £5 each way, we felt it was worth it. The site staff were very helpful, the shop was ok, we weren't impressed with the restaurant, very expensive for what it was!! I'm sure it's a very good site for those with bikes or if you have a caravan. So it was ok for us, I'm sure others will find it a good site for them.
Really friendly and well run, very clean, all amenities included quite campsite everything you need in one place.
Fantastic weekend away over the august bank holiday. The staff were friendly, the site was clean and quiet, and the facilities were fantastic. Thank you for a great stay.
Beautiful site and lovely sized pitch. The site was so clean , lovely areas surrounded by trees , shrubs and flowers. Would recommend although the only downside was lack of bins , you had to go to the entrance to the compactor , dog bins are needed on site .
What a Gem of a site, loved this place. Wardens extremely helpful and friendly, escorted to the pitch on arrival which is always a nice touch I think. Beautiful site, well maintained considering it's size, it's huge. Shower Block was immaculate and very nice. Had to pay 50p for a shower which I don't mind as they were lovely. Pub and Restaurant on site, which I thought was a but Pricey for the food, did not eat there but may well have done if I had stayed longer. Nice walks locally but found the walk up to the Mountain very challenging. Walkable into Porthmadog but there is a bus stop at the bottom of the drive to take you in if needed. Loved Porthmadog, lovely little town with the narrow gauge Railway offering plenty of trip options to various places. Found locals to be extremely friendly. I have never been to such a Dog Friendly Town. Will definitely return in future.
Booked to stay 5 days ended up staying longer. A well kept site just outside Portmadog, well within comfortable walking distance.Pitches are well laid out and very clean, no litter or rubbish. We had a tap and drain on our pitch which is normal and this is included in cost of standard pitch. No dog walks on site but footpaths to beach and other villages run through site or are close.by. There are no dog bins or other bins on site and rubbish is put into a compactor by entrance. The is a bar on site which is very competitive we paid £3.70 for a pint. Staff very helpful and friendly and willing to help. Usual toilets, showers, laundry on site though showers cost 50p. The site is a mix of statics, seasonal and tourers and can get busy on weekend
