A very warm welcome by all staff members, Ellie found us a table even though we had not booked. They told us the specials on the menu and the soup of the day. The fire was on and so cosy. Ellie took our drinks order of red wine and a local stout, over and out. They have a menu and a specials board. We ordered starters of pigeon and my wife had soft shelled crab Absolutely delicious. For mains we had steak and chips with onion rings and tomatoes. Steak cooked to my liking of medium rare. My wife had sea bass with potato fondant, spinach and cauliflower puree. We loved the simplicity and presentation of the food on our plates. The food was fresh and very tasty. For pudding we shared the specials cheesecake which was Eaton mess with 2 coffees and cream. Great place and amazing food with a difference. We will definitely be back especially after checking their specials out each week. Thanks again for a great night.
Very warm and friendly. We had gone camping very close and wanted a good old pub meal. This hit all the spots and more. The food was delicious and staff very friendly. Plenty off parking. There were even a great selection of board games you could play whilst waiting for your meal which the little one loved.
Great choice of local beers. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Staff were super friendly and I'll definitely be returning. Highly recommended
Great atmosphere, warm, welcoming and friendly staff. The food was delicious. We went on a Sunday, so Sunday lunch x4, with 3not sure which of the 2 meats were on offer, our choice made easy by the accommodating staff who said we could have both. The crackling on the pork was delicious and the beef so tender. There were 4 clean plates at the end which is always a good sign. Desserts were lovely - the orange treacle sponge went down very well with custard of course. It was so busy, with families, friends, walkers and local villagers and their dogs all enjoying the warmth and hospitality. We will be back
First visit yesterday was very enjoyable with Frank the dog. The dog biscuits and blankets were a lovely touch. Lasagne was good with tasty salad and the bread had such a nice chargrilled flavour. Partner really enjoyed his steak pudding being a Lancashire lad. The swede was delicious, would love to know what you put in it and the chips were amazing. Fattest chips I've ever seen but cooked perfectly. His sticky toffee pud was delicious. My only constructive criticism would be that I prefer my cheesecake in a slice with a firm base rather than the ramekin style in which it was served, but I enjoyed that it came with ice cream. Service was good too.We will definitely return soon as I want to eat everything that my partner had.
Walk and ride my bike in this beautiful area regularly! Been meaning to bob into The Turkey Inn for some time; which I did yesterday in midst of a beautiful hike! We had a couple of shandies and two bowls of chunky chips which cost just over £14. They were nice enough but I thought the price was a bit steep. I was treating my friend so didn't complain but as I'm currently unable to work probably won't eat there again. Lovely location and a lovely young male waiter served us outside which is well set up for eating and enjoying this very pleasant summer so far!
Hugely impressed - fab roast dinners ohhh- the beef & Yorkie , nice varied menu including good looking hot sandwiches for when you don't want to go all out. Lovely village down the road from k-town, outside eating area which people had sadly allowed their dogs to....use, so had to be avoided but lovely warm inside atmosphere & attentive staff more than made up for it. I've still given 5* as everything apart from outside was great - & that could have been unlucky timing. Good whiskey & general drink range. Recommended eatery
Great food, the thick chips were beautiful and very tasty. Even better with cheese! Some of the nicest onion rings I've ever tasted. The outside seating area is great, we'll spread out and pretty, can imagine it's great on a night. There isn't great mobile signal in this area so it's great that the pub has worked hard to get WiFi all across the outside area. The staff are also very friendly and helpful and you can place all your orders from your seat as they come round.
Spontaneous visit to this little pub and it was definitely worth coming; food was absolutely delicious, you could really tell it was made fresh and not packet food. Staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming and all the locals made you feel so welcome too. Couldn’t recommend this place more, will definitely be back soon
I had pie and chips, and didn't expect them to be as good as they was... cooked perfectly I had a pint of Chinnock and a toffee pudding which came with ice cream and the sauce was amazing. We brought our dog and there was dog biscuits and blankets and very dog friendly decorations were very nice and the girl who served us was very polite and smiley. 55 pounds for me and my partner who both had two courses a pint and a double gin and lemonade... well worth It.
