Popped by here after a terrible country pub experience shortly before somewhere else, this place though was much more like it, friendly and welcoming, lovely interior and super chill. It was pretty expensive, for a medium Malbec and a pint of larger it was £13.50. Which is a little mental but the sofa area was super relaxing. Didn't eat just passed in for one drink so can't comment on the food
Had the gammon meal and very good it was too. No pineapple option but I was ok with 2 eggs. The chunky chips were great.
Food was lovely staff was excellent very friendly little expensive
Perfect pint of Aspalls Prawn with mango and Marie Rose sauce really tasty too Sat next to canal nice pleasant area and the staff were friendly and attentive
This was my first visit, with friends and because it's a long way from home I'm not likely to go back for ages, if ever. The very best thing about the place was our waiter who was so *lovely* I could have just taken them home. The food was good and we all cleared our plates. I had an utterly delicious deconstructed black forest gateux for pud it comes in a chocolate flower pot - yum, yum, and yum again. 5 stars if they'd asked how I'd like my gammon steak cooked. I like it more well-done than usual and forgot to ask.
The service was great. Very attentive and drinks and food came quickly The food was good and we did get a voucher prior to our visit for a free dessert. However, I do think both food and drinks are very overpriced. 2 lager shandies £11.10. Food prices typically £4-£5 more than anywhere else. Vintage inns are a chain so would expect to pay a little less than the independent eateries locally
Good pub food and a varied menu. Not always the hottest food but usually tasty and good portions. Real ales can be a bit hit and miss but there’s a good selection of alternatives. Staff are excellent, friendly and very hard working, however the outside areas can sometimes feel a bit neglected.
The best meal I've had out since lockdown. I had the soup and Lasagne. Both were fantastic. Great portions and the food was pipping hot the service was excellent also. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. They've introduced a new app to order through and this was very effective with incredibly quick service to follow. The app is optional so you can order the traditional way also. I'll be going back on a regular basis!
Good selection of food to suit most people, reasonable prices. This pub is around 200 years old but you would not think so from the outside. Which is a shame really I think it probably lost a lot of what could have been a good atmosphere. The pub was fairly quiet at the time of our visit, but the staff were not very attentive, more interested in talking between themselves rather than checking the customers were ok, shame really the food was nice.
Service was slow for drinks. Some Christmas dinners were missing stuffing and pigs in blankets. No offer of condiments such as cranberry sauce. Lovely Christmas decorations, turkey was cooked well and the starters. It's not really worth £65 per person, so I wouldn't go for Christmas day again
