Story

Tudor House is a unique slice of Tudor life in the heart of historic Worcester, run almost entirely by volunteers, who stepped in to take over the running of the museum when it was threatened with closure.

Built in the early 1500s for a local cloth maker, it is now a FREE museum where you can explore the different aspects of life in the city, watch textile demonstrations, discover how the Tudors would have lived and get involved with keeping the city’s heritage alive.

Seat yourself in the 17th Century tavern or nose around the 16th Century bedroom, peak in at the ARPs office or refresh yourself in our charming coffee shop, inspired by Richard Cadbury’s work here. Tudor House brings the lost stories of Worcester’s history to life!

A very interesting building in the centre of the city (with a Cafe Rouge nearby). The very knowledgeable guides in each room tell you as much or as little as you wish.Very friendly guides in each room, full to the brim with info.

The volunteers in each room turn an ordinary visit into an interesting one.Wheelchair users who can't access the upstairs can view a video, that's again provided as a personal service to the particular visitor.

A lot to see in this museum. The staff are all volunteers, the prices are ridiculously low and its a great place to explore the local bygone history.
