I paid online for the parking ticket as I didn't have enough change to pay directly at the machine. I was even more determined to pay ASAP as the Civil Enforcement Officer was checking the cars for parking tickets. Finished paying, got the confirmation on my screen, so went on to visit the cathedral. On my return to the car park, I found a PCN in my windscreen!! Absolutely gutted and furious as I had made payment.nI do advise forever wants to use this car park, to take a screenshot with the confirmation of payment and parking. Unfortunately, I did not do that. I just kept in mind by what hour I needed to be back.nI challenged the penalty, as I still had proof of payment from my bank. The council rejected my request based on the fact that I had made payment after the PCN was issued. At the time they stated I made the payment, I was visiting the cathedral.nI do believe that there was a glitch in their system, as my bank processed the payment, and the council didn't.nI saw from other comments that other people encountered the same problem.nIt seems like Somerset Council is using this car park just to scam people of money!!nAvoid this car park altogether or take a photo of absolutely everything to keep as evidence.
Very reasonably priced car park with easy walk into Wells.
Very good price for a day's parking, and easy walk to city centre. BUT take cash with you. Doesn't take card payment and paybyphone app service doesn't work or didn't when I was there. I was rescued by kind lady who gave me the 10p I was short.
Paid online with the app due to the parking machine not accepting coins properly, lots of people were struggling with the machine. I then come back a few hours later and I have a parking ticket for having not paid. Parking shouldn't have to be this difficult! I have contested with the council as I have proof of payment. Awaiting a response.
No matter how many £1 coins we fed in, none of them were accepted. Had to go elsewhere. Not a good start to our first visit to Wells. And I've had enough of parking apps.
