How this shop keeps open for trading I do not know. We moved into this area just 4 months ago and in that time we have been trying to switch from paypoint meters to monthly payments on gas and electric. (Anybody that has ever had these will know, they have a tendancy to run out at the most convienent of times! haha). So back to this "convienence" store, well they support pay point apparently and back in November and December they charged 50p for a transaction via card to top up our gas and electric...Annoying and silly. But then in January they started saying it was a £1 fee. ok, weird. This morning, (despite the sign overhead on their shop door saying "convienence") I was told... "we no longer take card payments for pay point because we can't lawfully charge a £1 fee". What? In 2018, during times of increased competition and an increased tough financial climate you would think that small shops like this would bust a gut to keep it "convienent" and keep up great customer service. Never mind, superstore chain up the road it is.
