A fairly small services.. Toilets available and they were clean. Several eating places including Gregg's and burger King. There's some eating tables inside in the middle, and there's also a few outside too. Currently outside works going on at the fuel station Nov 2022 and there seemed to be lorries parked everywhere. It's ok if you need to stop yes, it's just , well, small !!
Only stopped to use the toilet, was relatively early but the cleaners were out in force and looks like they had been in the night. Toilets were clean and tidy.
A small service station compared to the off- motorway site ones. A few eateries and a WHSmith. I had a flat white coffee and a pack of mini chocolate brownies for £2.90 at value for money Gregg's. Nice small outdoor space to enjoy the fresh air.
Three resident cats were a welcome addition to my brief stop here. Very thoughtful of the staff to have service station pets - relieved the stress of the journey. Should be more widespread. Well done Trowell!
Fabulous services! Always handy on a road trip. When you pull into the services there's plenty of parking. With so many choices it's nice to eat somewhere healthy or a quick coffee or a junk food fix! There's plenty of tables and big brands to choose from and the usual facilities you want and need.
Stopped here today for a quick Costa coffee break. Our son has a nut allergy and a Costa staff member, Georgia, was absolutely amazing. She checked all ingredients and also made a hot chocolate with such caution. Felt so safe and my boy loved it. Please pass on our appreciation.
The staff were friendly so don't think this reflects on any staff in there, it doesn't, it is purely due to price, we all know they have you trapped if you are there for food and prices averaged the best part of £5 per sandwich that could be heated up, and not much less for a cold sandwich, the fast food was closed so had to pay nearly £14 for 2 bits of cake and drinks, which was overcharged now I think back. I was asked what size drinks I wanted and I said normal expecting them too be the cheapest price, around £3 odd, and not over £4, I also expected the hot chocolate and cappuccino to be the same price from what I can recall from the price list, yet one was a little extra on the other. And the amount of drink for the money was a joke, didn't get half a cup after getting past the froth, and considering they were the next size up than I expected it left a bad taste as they say, we all know you get shafted at motorway services, but this was crazy, never again. Next time such places have you so limited, I will get back in the car and keep going to the next one, and hope the fast food options are open, at least they're not so expensive as the rest of the place, daytime is probably ok, but forget it once the fast food shuts down unless you aren't worried about price.
It is clean, good light and has good food options. The only negative thing that I have to point out is that the marks in the pavement in the parking lot are not clear, so it is quite hard to understand where you are meant to go and how to leave it.
Great services overall. Smaller than some so can be more pleasant to stop at. Toilets clean enough but a bit patched up in places. Car park one-way system as confusing as ever!
It was ok and the Costa was good no queue at the time I went. Trowell however could do with being a bit more dog-friendly. There wasn't even a water bowl outside for them. Fortunately most dog owners would take their own supplies but a bowl of water might occupy a bit of time when dog and one owner has to stand outside.
