Didn't match the Groupon description at all. Soup, a sharing and dessert definitely is not a 9 course meal. Only the wings were alright, everything else was too carb heavy and lacked variety.
Absolutely loved the food! The portions were large and the flavours were delicious. We had a mixture of items but would recommend the jerk chicken, beef patties and mutton soup. It’s definitely well worth a visit. The staff also were really friendly and welcoming. We will be back!
Fantastic Family Dinner! We visited the restaurant for our wedding anniversary, special night for us and we weren’t disappointed. This is a very welcoming family owned restaurant where the host make sure you have a great experience and you not only get truly authentic Jamaican food but also the hospitality. We had their special 9-course starters, which started with pepper soup with some vegetables, followed with Mac n Cheese, Plantain, selection of Patties, BBQ chicken wings, Jerk Chicken, Dumplings, Rice and Beans. Although our stomachs were full at the time but hear wanted more. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back again!
After having some rather bad takeaways it was lovely to experience what real Caribbean food tastes like. Just had the nine course taster menu and was blow away. The staff are lovely and the food is incredible. The punch and cocktails are also very tasty. Would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back to try the main menu.
I joined my friend for Friday night dinner at the Treasure Beach Grill, as part of the Groupon promotion. I had never been to West Ken before, despite working in South Ken for the last 3 years and living in Wimbledon for the last 20 years ..so it was nice to discover a new part of town. The restaurant is nicely furnished, maybe 1 or 2 too many tables, as it felt quite crowded despite being quite quiet we arrived early, circa 6.30pm. Groupon menus can be quite limited, this was a tasting menu but it was a good size portion of everything. I had the lamb soup to start, omg it was so delicious. Lovely and peppery, with spinners I think they are called...just amazing. Then the platter came out, the jerk chicken is so yum!!! The Mac n Cheese a little dry for my personal taste. The rum punch was really refreshing and the pastry and the filling on the patties was superb. We met the chef a couple of times and thanked her personally. Her son was managing the bar and I think if we had come a little later in the evening, they would have been a little busier and the atmosphere may have been more exciting. Well worth a visit...you must try the lamb soup and the freshly made patties. Good luck to Treasure Beach Grill...
Here we go... Another Caribbean restaurant FAIL!!! This place don't even deserve 1 star but there's clearly a problem with communication in this place. I ordered over deliveroo as the menu looked nice but what I received made jerkys down the road look amazing!!! I ordered stew chicken and rice and I've never come across a meal that looked so dead, the chicken was pale and swimming in oil, food don't even looked cooked. Food come like it was defrosted and reheated. Brown stew chicken should be brown not pale and oily. The food just tastes oily and lack of flavour, very bland and I feel like the food was a ready made meal that you heat up!!!! The only thing I ate was the fried dumplings, the coleslaw looked like it was left out all day and tasted off. Call up the restaurant as I was missing a meal and the girl on the phone was very pleasant and helpful but all I could hear in the background was people arguing over who took the order who was responsible for the error. All they had to do is communicate professionally and rectify the order. I've just received the missing meal and it tastes just as bad as my children's meals! My children couldn't even finish their meal as it taste that bad, and we are Jamaican who know and love our food! Bloody disgrace! First and last time I ever order from this place. What a waste of £31 should've ordered Pizza Hut.
Loved the food, cosy feel to the place and the staff was friendly and attentive. Didn't give 5 because the soup could have been hotter, downstairs to the toilets needs tidying and the pineapple punch needed more favour in a bigger glass. Having said this, the meal was reasonable priced and I would visit again.
We booked this as a Groupon deal and we were really looking forward to visiting this eatery. We arrived early, and were seated straight away, but to be honest that is where it all went downhill. We waited 30 minutes for the soup to arrive, delicious, then we sat for an hour wondering where our food was. My husband visited the toilet and there was no toilet paper lol. After waiting 1 hour we were offered complimentary drinks which never arrived. I'm not going to lie the food was tasty but unfortunately it was over shadowed by the terrible service. When the tasting menu arrived we were offered no side plates so shared the main plate. We didn't even bother to asked because we were that hungry by then. It is now 22:38 and we have just left this place. Do not go there if you are in a rush and avoid the Groupon tasting menu as none of the food items are shared in equal portions. Better service and treatment of customers needed if they are to stay in business. However I will not be giving this another chance......
Brought this deal on Groupon. Unfortunately it wasn't a great experience. There was one person who waited on 7 people. Initially we were given a small glass of very nice rum punch. He brought the meal in sequence which resulted in him going up and down the stairs. The starter was a very small bowl of soup which was very nice but the food was very sparce. The main course, for two was plantain, fried dumplings, macaroni cheese which was basically pasta and cheese, not very tasty. Jerk chicken wings and a small bowl of rice n peas no gravy and not seasoned Very disappointing !! The dessert looked like it was shop brought and wasn't any choice so I was brought carrott cake. It wasn't very nice. I was offered a container for it but I declined. Our server was very polite and hard working. I was informed that it was his mother's restaurant and feel extremely bad about writing such an unfavourable review.
I went once to try, and have gone regularly since. Home-like food from this family run restaurant. Full of flavours. I am going back to France soon but I am going to miss it. Cosy atmosphere and well chosen music. Forgot to add: this is not one of those dirty/not looked after places: professional staff, and extremely neat and clean place...
