Do not stay here.nWe stayed during the heatwave on June 2026 in a family room with our 6 year old girl and small dog. The view out of the window was lovely, thats all that was good. I know it was a heatwave but travelodge were not equipped for heat. A double windowed room had one window that didn't open and another that opened a couple of inches. A small fan was provided which was useless. It was like a sauna. We spoke to the manager who apologised but said all the fans were out so no spares. We spent 3 nights sponging the dog and daughter down to keep them cool. We found a dirty mouldy take away carton in the room. The bath taps were loose, some bulbs were blown in the ensuite and the towels had holes in them and blood stains. We did complain to which we were told that there was nothing they could do.and to leave a negative review. We will never stay again.
Location was great—close to the pier with lots of nice places to eat nearby. I booked alternative parking ahead of time as I didn’t want to try my luck arriving late at night. The room itself was okay, very budget-friendly for the price.nHowever, the only reason I am giving this 2 stars instead of 0 is because the staff were polite and check in was quick when we arrive late night. The room had absolutely no ventilation. While there was a big window, it only opened a tiny fraction. There was no air conditioning, and they only provided one small fan that barely circulated the air.nCombining that setup with the heatwave meant I was completely miserable. I actually chose to cut my trip short and check out early just so I wouldn't have to spend another night barely breathing without proper cool air. Never again. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel; in this case, saving money on an affordable room cost me the enjoyment of the rest of my trip.
When did hospitality become so cold?nnImagine spending £1,500 to stay for six days across three rooms. You have driven for two hours, and you are 85 years old with reduced mobility. Your wife is also 85, wheelchair-bound and living with late-stage dementia.nnMy parents arrived ahead of us at 2:15 pm, with their luggage already unloaded. They simply ask to use the toilet while they waited for the rest of the family.nnThey are told NO! — because it's a security risk.nYet apparently, if they pay a £20 early check-in fee, that security risk disappears....nI'm sure the staff are simply following the procedures they've been given, and this isn't intended as a criticism of them personally. But when did companies whose entire business is built around hospitality become so lacking in basic compassion?nWe're not talking about someone demanding their room early. We're talking about an 85-year-old couple, one of whom is wheelchair-bound and suffering from late-stage dementia, needing to use a toilet after a two-hour journey.nSurely there has to be some room for common sense and basic human decency.nAre you genuinely prepared to see an elderly, vulnerable couple struggle with their luggage and wheelchair — and soil themselves — rather than allow them access to a toilet that is literally on the other side of the entrance, simply because their room isn't ready yet?nnMISS JO BOYDELL CEO of Travelodge, you should be utterly disgusted with yourselves. Seems you have have made some very large personal purchases yourself recently, looks like you arent hurting and you have increased revenue in 2026. You must be so proud!!!nnWe have used Travelodge many, many times throughout Europe and have always considered it a convenient and reliable place to stay.nAfter this experience, however, it is difficult not to feel that the customer and basic human compassion have become secondary to extracting another £20.nTravelodge — this isn't hospitality. It's putting a policy ahead of people.nAnd for an elderly, vulnerable couple in this situation, that's simply unacceptable.
Unfortunately, my stay at Travelodge Llandudno was a very disappointing experience. The overall cleanliness of the room was far below what I would expect from a hotel.nThere was a significant amount of dust on the bed and duvet, which caused itching and made it very uncomfortable to sleep. The carpet was also clearly not cleaned properly, and there was dust throughout the room. The bathroom was no better, with dust and cleanliness issues, and the body wash dispenser was not working.nWhat was even more disappointing was the housekeeping service. We placed the clear waste and towel-change tags outside the room before 11 AM, as instructed on the tag, but the bins were not emptied and the towels were not replaced.nOverall, the room did not feel properly cleaned or maintained, and the housekeeping service was very poor. This was a very unpleasant stay, and unfortunately I would not recommend this Travelodge based on my experience.
This is the worst Travelodge I have ever stayed at so far.nnUsually my experience with Travelodge is pretty good but unfortunately this specific location did not meet the standard expectations.nnThe room smelt of sewage, the carpets were dirty, the sheets were stained, the walls were stained and more.nnGenerally unclean and untidy. I paid £124 for one night, I would expect better cleanliness for that price. I know it is a budget friendly hotel chain but as I say my previous stays at other locations have been very good.
