I was a little dubious after reading some reviews but the hotel is great! Yes it is dated but its very clean, well run and the staff are all brilliant. Special mention to Andy on reception who couldn't have been more helpful, absolute credit to your team. In summary if you want 5* luxury then pay the price and go elsewhere,  if you want a clean, welcoming and friendly hotel at a great price with a good breakfast you can not go wrong.  We will definitely be returning.

Lovely hotel, great location on front, right near shops. Booked a single room which was small but fine for 1 night. Really clean, Kettle and hairdryer in room. Bar area lovely, check in great and receptionist very informative! Will def stay again however the only downside is car park only has about 10 spaces which are 1st come basis and you have to pay £10 to park. So will prob get train in next time.

We absolutely love The Marine. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and plentiful. Everything you need is within walking distance,  including local shops and a retail park. A great place to explore the area. Cannot fault this hotel at all

I am writing this review with genuine disappointment, as I had expected far more from this hotel based on the images and descriptions provided online. Unfortunately, the reality was very different.nnThe room I was given was far smaller than the “standard double” I had booked. The carpet was badly stained and carried an unpleasant odour, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere from the outset. The bathroom was particularly poor — extremely cramped, with a constant smell, and even paint peeling from the walls, which gave the impression of neglect and poor upkeep.nnEqually troubling was the way these issues were handled by the staff. Rather than addressing the concerns in a constructive or empathetic manner, the response felt dismissive, which only compounded the dissatisfaction. A genuine effort to acknowledge and resolve the situation would have gone a long way.nnOverall, the stay was uncomfortable and fell far below expectations. The misleading photos, the lack of maintenance, and the inadequate service make it very difficult to recommend this property. With some honesty and investment in upkeep, the hotel could do better, but as it stands, I would advise others to look elsewhere.nnI booked this stay through Booking.com, and even their customer care team expressed dissatisfaction with how poorly the hotel staff handled the situation.nnIt was clear that the issues were not taken seriously, and no real effort was made to put things right. What should have been a long and enjoyable holiday was completely ruined by the hotel's lack of honesty, upkeep, and service.nnI have added images from the website and the actual hotel for reference.

Swimming pool can only have 10 people in at a time so you aren't guaranteed to go in when you want to. The changing rooms at the pool were closed so you have to walk wet through the hotel to your room. The rooms were lovely, spacious and clean. The staff were really nice and friendly but there was a long queue to check in we had to wait for like 30mins to check in.
