Nice for walking. It takes around 1 -1.5 hour.
An amazing, refreshing walk with 360 views of the surrounding area. You get quite high and the walk has a nice trekking feel to it. It takes around 40 minutes and there are few main ways for going to the top and down. I would recommend not to fear a foggy day because every weather gives a different unique experience. And yes, there are wild ponies around! Overall, if you ever happen to find yourself nearby, and fancy a walk up a hill to get some views and freshest air possible, go here.
Step back on time with a walk steeped in ancient history. A ramble here has a real air of being somewhere shaped by mother nature and man for thousands of years. Mysterious piles of stone and ancient walls 5-6 feet thick are everywhere. The 40-50 minute walk itself is a little random as there are many paths from prior explorers and the pony's! You will get to the top in the end and the view is a real pay off. Sweeping views all the way into the Kingdom of Fife across the Forth. Play spot the landmark with the kids. Arthur's seat, Bass Rock and Berick law are all clearly visible from the top. Only suitable for those comfortable with rough paths. We just managed and no more with my partially sighted wife. Good footwear essential. Parking limited and watch the Sat Nav on the way there it can get confused with the country roads. Expect about a half hour drive from Edinburgh. No toilet facilities nearby.
It's a quick walk with great views and a dedicated car park

it's not a mountain, and it's not a peak, but it worth a visit
Great for an invigorating walk!
