Fantastic place. Warm welcome from Management and team. Really good and reasonably priced food. Well kept beers etc. They say "Don't judge a book by its cover" Certainly the case with this establishment. Nothing wrong with the exterior either, this is a traditional Coaching House and retains its authenticity.
Spent 2 nights here in a beautiful cosy room.. very clean and warm..extra large comfortable bed..warm friendly atmosphere in the pub..food is really good in the restaurant..very highly recommended..Rooms: 5/5
We went to the restaurant only. The menu is somewhat limited however the food was very nice the service was great.Service: 5/5
Can not say about rooms as we only popped in for a quick drink ! . Friday afternoon and was very quite ! . Bar staff was friendly enough but with only about four customers , didn't have a lot to do.Service: 4/5
We stumbled across this pub and are glad we did. Great food, really generous portions which were excellent value. I had the scampi and chips with lovely minted crushed peas and homemade tartare sauce. The service was really friendly too. Would recommend as a great dinner option in Pakefield.
Recently refurbished, room was clean and had everything you need. Easy access in nice area. Despite booking as bed and breakfast, no food available when we stayed as the chef was away. Not notified of this despite them having phone no and email address, and even sending a form asking about any dietary requirements a week before we stayed. Was given a bigger room in lieu of no breakfast - this did not fill our bellies, and on reflection don't really think it was a suitable substitution. Pub was totally empty in the afternoon, and early evening on the Saturday when there. Four casks beers on, surprising when little trade.
Lovely Pub, Great Food and tastefully decoratedRooms: 5/5
Great meal, friendly staff, very good Service: 5/5
Popped in today 01/09/21 as we normally use the Trowel and Hammer and this is an associated inn. The landlord was in eating so we joined in. Menu gave plenty of choice. Bar staff incredibly helpful when I asked about fishing shops. We both had a starter - king prawns in garlic - absolute heaven. Then we had different main courses which my partner said melted in her mouth chicken Kiev and she treated me to a steak again absolute bliss. Really quaint pub with dining area and then through the alcove bar area with pool table. Ambience was positive, staff and landlord could not have been more helpful. We'll be going again. We did not use the hotel facilities but if they are the equivalent to the pub then they must be impressive. Really enjoyed everything about it. Thank you. We both enjoyed the hospitality and even had a game of pool. Plenty of parking round the back.
We stayed here for a week. The bedroom was large, plenty of room with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was luxurious. The meals were scrumptious and excellent chef.Rooms: 4/5
