Ideal for the RIAT airshow. The toilets and showers are very clean. It's a 20 minutes walk to the airfield entrance.
Very well signposted well marked out,good facilities, what more could one ask for. Reasonable charges. Perfect for air show.
Stayed for air show, friendly helpful staff, clean toilets and showers available. Plenty of room and different fields for families, quiet field for non generators, recommend, will go again
This is not a holiday campsite - this is a camping zone for the international air tattoo so it's busy and a little rough around the edges but the atmosphere, the staff, and the price is fine. As seasoned campers we're used to good campsites with loss of facilities - this is not one of those bitñlut at £40 for 2 people for 2 nights it's fine.
This was the First time i have stayed at this site... when you arrived at the site got a warm welcome .. by the staff checking in .. You could pitch up on any of the fields that had spaces .. the site had a bar and served food from jacket potato ,barbecue, chips scampi and chips on Friday and had a nice roast pork and apple bap on Sunday.. had a shop selling different items.. plus had cafe like horse box selling hot drinks cold drinks, cakes , plus bacon rolls.. music over weekend... this site kept the toilets very clean .. emptying them a lease twice a day .. never look dirty over the 5days... had shower blocks depends on time you went for shower you may have to queue.. I will definitely stay at this site again . A very big welldone to the staff that run the campsite
We were there for the Airshow and it was great lots of clean toilets and those showers were a godsend on those very hot sweaty days and nights.
Well organised. Clean and tidy. Right next to the air show. Brilliant weekend.
I have just returned from a good stay at Townsend Farm for RIAT 2022. Staff very friendly, eager and willing to help you with anything that you may need. I do, however, have a couple of small complaints regarding breaches of the Generator rule which states that 'Generators must be switched off by 22:30pm'. on more than one occasion another pitch was running a generator until 01:45am at least and on other occasions well after the curfew time. Also, the campsite has a quiet hours curfew of 23.30 until 07.00 and on many occasions this was not adhered to with drunken shouting often into the early hours. Another complaint that I have is regarding the Elsan waste disposal tanks dotted around site. on a majority of days these were empty apart from my departure day 18/07/22 where no less than 3 of these tanks were overflowing with sewage which is neither hygienic or very healthy. not only that, when I was finally able to dispose of my elsan waste I found that I had no water to wash the cassette out with as all water had been disconnected, leaving 1 2000ltr bowser in the shower field which was inconvenient considering that you still had paying campers on site. This also meant that on one of the hottest days of the year, paying guests could not shower as the gas heater had been switched off as the showers were being collected on the monday and not after camping had closed and the site had been reverted back to a working farm on the Wednesday
Absolutely brilliant weekend camping for the RIAT. Excellent views, brilliantly organised with everything you need. Highly recommend
Great campsite for RIAT. Could have done with more showers and the DJ on Friday night wasn't to my taste but overall it was a great experience and right on the flightpath for the airshow.
