Great bike shop specialising in electric bikes. Good selection of makes and models at a range of prices and wide range of accessories . Repairs and servicing carried out. Very helpful and efficient and friendly staff.

We rented a couple of e-bikes from Top Gear a few weekends ago & thoroughly enjoyed the experience, so we decided to purchase our own bikes the following week. The friendly, knowledgeable, professional service received from Chip, Ian and James was exceptional. Along with all the required accessories, we had our e-bikes delivered the following day. What an outstanding service, would highly recommend Top Gear in Penryn for anyone looking to rent or buy an e-bike.

Great service from all the staff at TopGear for my recent purchase of an ebike. They had the right spec bike at a great price and even delivered it for me, can’t fault their professionalism and would thoroughly recommend this shop if you’re thinking of purchasing a new bike.

Living in South Africa, I ordered a Haibike Hardseven Five from Top Gear to ride LEJOG Land’s End to John O’Groats. They couldn’t have been more helpful in advising at a distance what would be the best e-bike for this in my budget. James delivered it to my hotel at Land’s End at the agreed time. It did all I expected of it. Top marks for Top Gear!

I dealt with James who was helpful and knowledgeable and didn’t try to sell the most expensive bike just the one most suitable for my requirements. I purchased a Kalkhoff 3b and have been blown away by how brilliant it is. The service provided by the guys at Top Gear is first class and I would recommend that anyone who is unsure about the benefit of buying an E bike should go and see James. It is the best and most beneficial investment I have ever made!

Took my old bike there today and ended up changing it for a new electric bike. The shop has a good selection of electric bikes and they understand the market. This will be my third electric bike, but it is still nice to buy from a shop that can offer the support and advice.

We wanted to use e-bikes in Cornwall but be able to transport them easily in the car to use on trips elsewhere. Peter guided us to the Wisper Torque 806s and we're delighted with them. Though bigger with their 20" wheels than commuter folding bikes with 16" wheels, we're so pleased with their road handling. They've coped well with very steep Cornish hills up from Helford Passage, Hawkers Cove and Kennack Sands, rough tracks mining trail & Sustrans 3 and diabolically pot-holed Oxfordshire roads. Peter suggested bags to help get them into the boot - we can just get both in with a little juggling, and cheap panniers that fit the Wisper carriers really well. Battery capacity we got 575s is way more than enough for daily use. We're looking forward to many adventures in coming months & years - thanks for getting us back on the road, Peter!
