Always great. A lovely setting, big portions of classic pub grub and a warm welcome from a lad called James. Always make the effort to come here when I am nearby. Some great walks from the door too, to walk it all off.
1st visit Saturday 8th April after a walk to Stoodley Pike, impressive, table straight away although we hadn't booked, great food the cheese and onion pie ,generous portions and the loveliest of staff, finally excellent value for money, a return is a must, highly recommended.
Decent food although service a bit slow and the Sunday roasts tend to run out quite soon. Telephone to book on Sundays recommend and try to select a table. Good idea to offer mint sauce with the lamb lunch. Excellent beer, good parking, good staff. In general a good pub for a lunch, an excellent pub for good beers. Needs a car to get there and the road has a few narrow parts.
Stop for a drink while on our walk. It's in a lovely location. I think they are doing some refurbishment but food was still being served and everything looked good.
Food was delicious and very reasonable prices for the portion size. A little out of the way for me but would definitely visit again if in the area.
Absolutely brilliant as usual. I always recommend this place to everyone as it's great local produce and reasonable prices. The staff are polite and helpful too. Think I've tried the majority on the menu, and I've no complaints with any of them. Just be careful though. If you've kids, they may want to raid your pockets for change to use on the sweet grabber or the most impossible game in the world. Where you have to collect balls in a basket. Anyway, go try it, you will like it. And I'm not on commission.
Located in the Todmorden and a tad remote up narrow lanes but well worth a visit. Excellent food, reasonably priced, attentive staff. Sunday roast followed by Ice Cream Crunch Sunday is a must. Last there in the late 70s when it was a disco pub. Good then and now as a pub restaurant.
Fantastic food and very quick service. Lovely staff and great venue. Always clean, warm and welcoming. We had the Cumberland sausage with chips and peas, and fish and chips with mushy peas, and a side of onion rings. It was beautiful.
Arrived to a packed car park Saturday evening and were thinking they would be fully booked, we were right, but they managed to squeeze us in for two mixed grilles. The wife said it was the best mixed grille she’s ever had and I couldn’t agree more. Absolutely banging food and great service, 5 stars. We will definitely be back.
Staff a little slow on attendance but very polite and efficient once order was placed. Food was lovely and good portions. The only complaint I have is that the fat on the lamb chops and the gammon should be rendered down.
