On the advice of my mother in law, who has used Tony's before, I had a pair of vintage leather Bally boots re-soled. Now they are like new and I couldn't be happier. Would highly recommend.
Absolutely shocking service. Sloppy care over the work and beyond abysmal customer service. Unbelievably rude and careless manager. Condescending and mocking in the face of my concern over an important item of mine. I took a pair of very well made classic boots in to have their inside heel recovered. On first collection - so badly done that brought them back to have them redone. Messy glue, unstuck insoles. One boot was so badly re-leathered inside that the shoe no longer fitted! No apology what so over. A very defensive response from the manager. Second go - still no stitching correctly done which is what was initially paid for. Broke on the second wear. I took them back for my THIRD visit to ask for my £35 back so I could get someone professional to take care of the mess they've made. Just another incredibly defensive and rude reception, refused to refund me. All he could offer was to do it again. I'm not leaving my shoes with someone who messed them up twice. Still no apology for my time wasted and the dissatisfaction, let alone the disgraceful craftsmanship.

Excellent repair experience - fast and brilliant quality
If I could give zero I would. Took a shoe in to patch up and there was still a hole in them when I left. They said they only patched two sections as they “don’t go looking for work on shoes”. I asked them to fix up all the holes in the shoes. They then asked for another £13 after having already paid nearly £30 for one shoe. Abominable. Rude and combative. Don’t go here!!!
Brought shoes in for resoling and can no longer wear them. They said the shoes would be the same as they were previously, and I specifically asked if the new sole would be the same softness, but they put a very hard sole on them. Instead of resolving the issue they tried to convince me that the new hard soles would be the best thing for me. They did give me some insoles for free which make no difference, but it was not a friendly exchange. They then said that the original material on my shoes was not something they can do seems a pretty ordinary boot sole to me, and that I would have to send the shoes to the original manufacturer. Wouldn't it have been rational to communicate this in the first instance, especially if they were going to change the sole to a completely different material? Issues with communication here and they didn't care about rectifying their mistake. Not recommended.
I have had countless shoes resoled and brought back to life by Tonys over the years. The work is always amazing and the options of level of repair are as you’d expect from a top notch old school cobbler. Cannot recommend highly enough
Took my Loakes in for a re-heel & re-sole job. The helpful feller at the counter pointed out there was still some tread left in the heel, it was up to me, but I could maybe wait a few more months. No hard sell here! I decided to just get them re-soled and the job was nicely done in a couple of days. Good prices, friendly staff and knowledgeable too - when I went back to collect the Loakes, I saw a different chap, equally friendly and who explained the difference in price and the different processes involved if I took in another pair whose sole has split. These are professionals who know more than just glueing on a new heel - where necessary they can do stitching, rebuilding etc - the traditional cobbler methods. Highly recommended !
Went once for shoe repair and another for key cutting. The shoe service was ok. Key cutting not at all as I was asked after a couple of unsuccessful attempts to come back with the lock itself as they couldn’t do it. I read comments about friendly staff… not in my opinion/experience. Do not recommend unless strictly necessary
