We went for the soap making workshop. Laura our teacher was very prepared and answered all our questions. There were only 4 of us in class so we had access to all the moulds between us. The session lasted 1.5 hours and they let us take the time we need to wait for our soap moulds to fully set. Really enjoyable session and will definitely do it again. They have a very good variety of colour dyes, essential oils as well as moulds. Thank you for an amazing session!
Today I took a soap making class and was met by a lovely instructor who was nice and explained the process with high expertise. There was a wall with many different types of moulds and we were given a range of; colours, scents and also decorative flowers for the soaps. In addition, we were given 2 pots of wax to colour. It is better to bring a friend or friends as it means you are able to make a range of colours. However, the instructor did suggest from going from a lighter colour to dark if you wanted a different colour. Note: the instructor will help melt the wax so you will just be colouring and choosing the scent! This is good if you have kids and want an easy day out Thank you for the lovely day out Token Studio x
Went here for a class with my family. Paid an additional £50 extra for them to fire our pottery only for them to not answer our requests to collect and then when we made an appointment to collect them they said they couldn’t find them when we arrived. Still waiting to hear back from the manager but expecting a full refund at this stage. In response to Tokens comment below, I asked for a refund of the amount we paid for the firing of our pots and for half the price we paid for our classes due to them not providing the pots.
Had a really lovely time with my group of girls. However the tables were quite dirty there were dirty tissues left over from the people before us. One of the bottles of paint was broken so when I went to pick it up it fell all over my white dress. They didn’t have aprons for people who were painting.
GOING TO EDIT MY REVIEW AFTER 7 MONTHS: TOKEN STUDIO COMPLETELY GHOSTED US!! I’ve just change my review to 1 start, my friends and I’ve been trying to reach out the studio to pick up the pieces that we did on that day. But Token studio never picked up the phone and was not answering our emails , so we never had the change to have our ceramic pieces back!!!! They told us that if we show them that we made a review on internet, we didn’t have to pay what it cost to bake the pieces! So we did so. But then when it was time to pick up the pieces, they’ve never answered!! REALLY DISAPPOINTED!! TOKEN STUDIO GHOSTED US COMPLETELY AFTER THAT DAY!!! ———————————————————— really nice experience: had lot of fun!! wonderful teacher and beautiful place
Fun Sunday afternoon ! The session was really easy to follow and stress free. It was great to be able to make the pottery and then paint ! Not mention bringing your own booze. Great group activity !
I am Harriet Millers trouble making friend. It was an unpleasant experience. We were both looking forward to this. I concur with everything Harriet said in her review. It could have been a wonderful experience had an extra staff member been added. So at least one staff per table. When 4 people showed up overcrowding the class something should have been addressed sap. The response from the owner to negative reviews says it all. I have no problem using my name. At no point was any staff member in tears. I can’t seem to reply to your reply I had an email as I was having difficulty to book on line. I was asked for a screenshot of the vouchers which I sent. I can’t seem to paste them here. I was given a code to use. I entered one code as these were bought individually. I was unable to use the code again. We arrived 45 minutes early to make sure we were booked. We explained the difficulty. We were told to come back at the time of the class. Which we did and we were let in. Two vouchers were purchased and confirmed.
Entertainment workshop and the layout of stuff is clean and organized! The instructor is very friendly and helpful during the workshop, though I am a beginner, really find it interesting !
Avoid at all costs. Don’t waste your time, money or effort. The Studio lost my pots and I am now being ghosted and refused a refund. On top of that I have never received such shocking customer service. The pottery workshop was ok but overpriced, rushed and limited freedom to make what you want. The painting was, again, ok but the tables are messy, the tools are old and grubby and you are left to your own devices. We also had to repair the holes in our pots that the man taking the workshop made. We left our pots on the table for glazing, precisely as per the Studio’s guidance to ensure no issues, and a few days before I was due to collect my appointment was cancelled without reason. After a number of rude replies I eventually got an answer - the Studio had lost or recycled our pots. Having paid an additional £20 for a service that I have not received, it seems to me that it is only reasonable to be refunded. However, the Studio told me “you are not to get a refund under any circumstances”. After being offered a refund for the £20, I provided proof of purchase as requested and since then I have had all emails ignored, despite expressing my understandable upset at the loss of my pots. I feel like I have been scammed. All communication I have had with the Studio has been extremely rude, unprofessional and defensive, rather than owning up to their mistake. The poor excuse for an apology I received was insincere and passed on the blame. It is clear from the abundance of other reviews that I am not the only one who has had issues with the Studio and received such shocking service. Would I have still felt like this had my pots not been lost? Yes. *Edited* to upload picture of my tickets in the pots as proof I did follow guidance, in response to the owner’s reply. It is absurd that I am being accused of then throwing the numbers in the bin - why would I do that when I have paid £50pp. Therefore, the Studio is happy to lie and accuse their clients of wrong doing rather than own up to their mistake and admit responsibility.
Huge shame! I was really looking forward to this experience, I've been wanting to go to token studios for a long time and my boyfriend booked me a couple's session for Christmas, that I then booked for valentines day. I'm not sure of the hosts name, but he was rude from the minute we walked in. The lesson was very rushed and the teacher didn't seem bothered about actually teaching us at all. After the first station we were then just left to do the next two stations on our own, with no guidance and the teacher just literally didn't speak to us after that as he was busy with the next class. Felt like we were being churned out like cattle, such a money making scheme with no passion for the art. We were then told we had to pay an extra £10 each to have the pottery burned and glazed, which is shocking considering the price of the class. I've been to other pottery classes that cost the same amount, you get a much more intimate session, as much clay as you want to make and two clay pieces you've made burned and glazed included. I can't yet comment on the experience when trying to reclaim our pieces, but I'll be back to comment. I really hope we get them and they're not destroyed or were ignored. I was really hoping to have left this experience super pleased and willing to come back as the center is closer to me than other ones. I hope this feedback is constructive and they do better in future
