A great lunchtime experience, we booked a table via the app. Arrived on time, greeted as we entered and shown to a table and drinks order taken. The drinks arrived by the time we had taken our jackets off, what great service! We decided on a carvery lunch and was shown where to go being our first visit the quality of the food was excellent and the service in this Toby restaurant was flawless. Car parking is like most in the chain and you must register your vehicle to get free parking in the car park attached to the establishment. Wheel chair access looked good. Not sure if it’s a pet friendly restaurant as ours stayed home in comfort! We normally take her on our visits to places as she is really well behaved and loves coming as part of the family.
We went for a birthday meal. Atmosphere was nice, service was nice and food was OK. only problem was that the meat was a bit dry and tough but had quite a bit of flavour. Since the new renovation you now have to put your car registration in otherwise you apparently get a £100 fine. we booked online and stated that we had a wheelchair with us, the staff were very accommodating to this.
Average on food and service ordered wine and had to prompt and remind waitress to bring the bottle. BUT to get a £100 parking fine through the post 9 days later was a right kick in the teeth. We visit Toby Inns many times and you usually cannot miss the car park booking screen and are always advised as to it's requirements before ordering food. First and last visit to this restaurant and got nothing so forgot to register car as we never saw the screen to remind us. We didn't see any notices externally but I'm sure they are present so no joy for us there. Goodbye Toby Inns.
As usual, lovely good quality food. However, we queued for 25 minutes before we got to eat... the chef needed either a prod with a sharp stick or a pillow. We would still class this Toby as one of our favourites despite today's blip.
