We were early for Sunday lunch and disappointed the place was a bit grubby. Tables and floor not clean, salt and pepper pots flecked with old gravy, etc.nThe decor and wall decorations are bland and unimaginative.nService was prompt, helpful, and pleasant.nThe meats were well cooked and presented, but the vegetables were mostly overcooked, not inedible, but pretty soft, lacking taste or wilted. There were a good array of sauces and condiments in bowls nearby. However, without any labels, it was frustrating and difficult to tell what was what.nWith a bottle of wine and a side of pigs in blankets, the bill was nearly £60 for 2 without a tip.
I don't usually give out 5 stars, but I have to say, this place totally deserved it. The food was delicious, especially the roast dinner. They had a great variety of meats, perfect roast potatoes cooked in goose fat, huge Yorkshire puddings, and tasty vegetables. And let's not forget about the amazing gravy! It would have taken me forever to make a meal like that.nnWe went in at 6:30pm on a Sunday, and it was still busy! The staff were fantastic though, super nice and friendly. If you're usually the one cooking Sunday roast, I highly recommend taking a break and letting someone else do it for you. It was definitely worth it and I'll be coming back more often now.nnOh, and the desserts looked amazing too, but we were just too full to try any. When we got home, I was happy to see a clean kitchen and no dishes to wash. They really did all the hard work for me. Thanks for an awesome meal, guys!
Really enjoyed it to be fair. It's been a long time since I've been at a carvery and I'm not usually a fan but today changed my opinion.nThe food was tasty and the service was great. Couple of minor points that could be improved, the gammon was a bit tough and chewy, the other meat was lovely though, especially the beef. And we were seated next to the toilets and seemed to be in through fare hence the 4 stars. Would return and recommend...
we had a really great meal at Toby Carvery Knowle this evening. We went because there was a special offer which was an amazing price. The food was excellent and cooked just right. And we love the new refurbishment. We were served by Maddie who was attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed our chat with her and it was the icing on the cake for a really good evening. Keep up the good work you guys!
Just visited this Toby carvery and I just want to mention how wonderful the team are there. The service was phenomenal, a special mention to MJ who was exceptional in her service. Always smiling and polite while maintaining a friendly manner. As a solo visitor the atmosphere was friendly and comfortable and that was because of the whole team and the way they worked together to provide great service. The food was delicious my plate was empty and I stayed for a dessert. Having worked in the hospitality industry for more than 15 years this is one of the best experiences I have had. Thank you to all on shift 17th April 6pm - 9pm. You are a credit to the pub and the company. Keep up the good work guys and next time I am in the area I will definitely be calling back 100%. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
