Very disappointed. Paid for 4 full breakfast, including porridge and cereals. Went to breakfast counter to find there was no bacon, can understand that. However, our youngest only eats porridge or cereal for breakfast already been charged adult price, to be informed that they don't serve porridge or cereal. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Cups where handed to us with fingers in it. Dirty plates all over, leftover food left in places. We love Toby but sadly we left hungry and sad. Toby continued..
Food was all fresh and very tasty, excellent variety. The customer service was fantastic from the minute we walked through the door. We were shown straight to our table within a few minutes our waiter was with us and took our order. He was excellent all the way through our visit. Service very quick with no big queues.. dessert was served quickly as well. The only thing I could moan about is that the plates could do with being replaced as they looked quite black and old from where they are in constant use. Other than that it was a fabulous experience from. Start to finish. We will definetly be returning for dinner on our next trip to the cinema
Had a wonderful visit to Toby Carvery Trowbridge today. The service from Ian, Mark and Lady H combined was 10/10 and we left feeling very accommodated and happy. Food was all really lovely, fresh and considering it was a Sunday especially, it was all kept really well topped up. We were expecting queues with it being the busiest day for a carvery but the small queue there was went down really quickly due to the quick and efficient service provided. No one was left waiting around for new meat/potatoes/veg to be brought out and even the gravy’s and sauce selections were kept full. Staff were all so friendly and helpful with recommendations and super quick service.. truly couldn’t find fault!
Ian was absolutely brilliant!! Really friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond and made us feel like we were the only ones in here. First time having a Toby Carvery breakfast and I think we will have to make it a regular thing. Thanks for the great service and food.
Served by Jack P this evening and how nice it was to be served by somebody friendly and who has excellent customer service skills - very rare these days! Food was also nice and restaurant clean. Sorry no change for a tip Jack, but keep up the great work and I hope your employer values your passion. Perhaps Toby can change their machines to give option for tips as cash is rarely carried these days!!!
Visited Toby C in Trowbridge yesterday. 1st problem was getting in to the building, we eventually found the side fire door and went in. The service was OK. We had our drinks order quite promptly and we went to the carvery and oh dear, the meats were half gone, the vegetables were dry and worst of all my wife was given a stained white plate for her food.the waitress was surprised that we wanted a clean plate, even though there was a huge stack of clean ones behind the carvery, and no apology either The beef was like chewing shoe leather and the Yorkshire puddings were flat as a pancake. However the puddings were delicious when we finally got served about 10 minutes waiting! Was it worth the trip out? Not really. Our local Wadsworth carvery charges about the same as Toby and is 10 x better. plus they have other menus if you want something other than a carvery Last gripe from me is the cleanliness or lack of. Under our table was dirty and the staff were emptying bins without gloves. All in All the Toby C OK if you are ravenous and stuck for a place to eat. Good luck!!!
I went for the first time last week, the service was 5 star, they made us feel welcome, I get my meat cut and the chef asks me about my day, we had to get also get some details on a nut allergy, the waiter came out with some information and clarified the information my friend needed. - I then came here with another mate last Thursday, this time a really friendly woman served us, same atmosphere as before. I literally said out loud to my mate "we need to leave this place a 5 star, I feel like a bloody King in here" lolol Good work guys, oh and food was FANTASTIC
Disappointing......what management training has the Manager had. Surely in managing the carvery is to ensure the carvery runs smoothly. We were shown to our table and our drinks order was taken. We were then told we could go and get our food. Well it was a joke...after waiting for 15mins to be served our meat, we asked a member of staff where the chef was, she disappeared and returned to say he would be with us soon. When he eventually came he served our meat but we then discovered most of the veg etc needed topping up. The chef then disappeared to top up the veg, but after waiting for so long for this to be done, our meat and Yorkshire pudding were cold and we went off the idea of eating. We therefore left our plates and returned to our tables and did not eat. Just to say also, that the chef had a beard with no snood and waitresses were serving food with very long hair not tied back, where is the health & safety training. One very helpful member of staff named Jack shone above all the other staff and his social and supervisory skills were examplerary. Get that Manager out, and get Jack in as Manager and perhaps you might just be able to think about running a carvery !!!!!! Surprised to read so many reviews with people who have similar issues to us and Toby replying saying it will never happen again.....that inspires confidence in the company doesn't it
Greeting was great, but during our meal two of our children are on the spectrum so began to be a bit loud and couldn’t sit still, they did start to wonder around the tables and got told by one of your staff to keep our children under control which can be quite difficult when there is a loud atmosphere. We were there for less than an hour and didn’t feel welcome !!!
Our waiter was Mark, he seated us, chatted with us and accommodated all of our needs. Some at our table were a little impatient but he was so lovely and apologetic about us having to wait. He checked in with us and when the toy machine was broken for one of our youngest he made it possible for him to have a toy. Mark made the experience great. We were a table of 8 aging 10 to 50 and everyone left with a smile all because of his great efforts! Thankyou Mark! You’re a star. Kid-friendliness: Our little ones left with smiles because of the kindness of the team.
