Toby Carvery

About

Here at Toby Carvery Chapel Allerton, we believe there's only one way to do our beloved British roast – and that's properly.

Story

When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings – including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're Leeds's favourite carvery restaurant.

With it being my first time having a Toby Carvery I wasn't expecting much. It's safe to say it exceeded all my expectations, the food was great and the staff were attentive without being too much. Special mention to Jean-Paul who was great in looking after not just us but everyone else, he was very upbeat and friendly, couldn't ask for more. Highly recommend this Toby Carvery. Parking: Plenty of parking on offer, it gets busy quickly on a Sunday so recommend coming as soon as you can.
I have been quietly going here for about 8 years,.. its a hidden gem,.. It's unassuming, but the staff are very friendly, professional and attentive. It has a great mixed customer base of individuals, families, local employees and friends,.. all day long. You can get a good home made cup of coffee and decent breakfast from 08:00. Pubs are shutting across the country, so it makes sense to me to support local long lived establishments like the "Queens" as it was,..especially where it is true that they working really hard to provide a real social and economic service by providing a social hub, food and drink all day at prices that are a lot cheaper than other types of cafe, restaurants and pubs in the area... its also a little quiet haven with a vast garden and yard at the rear which is a great place to gather your thoughts,. do your own thing or enjoy with family and friends. After 8 years I can honestly say that everyone is welcome and there is never a reason not to pop in. If you are not using the Queens you are missing the point ; Parking: vast
The service was out of my expectation. It was my first time to Toby Carvery and I didn’t know the setting was kind of a semi-buffet. Special thanks to server Uahe who was attentive and kind to explain the details for us. Carver Ryan was also friendly and introduced us the meat options in a nice way. Food was delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant.
Booked a table for 2pm today, we were seated quickly, no queue for for the food. The young lady behind the Carvery was very helpful, I have very serious dairy and egg allergies and everything was checked out for me. The food was beautiful and service was excellent. We will definitely go back. Well done everyoneFood: 5/5
The man who greeted us,and showed us our table was so good and helpful. I assume this is Daniel the manager. Our waiter John Paul was also very good as well. I had the carvery king size, but Steven the carver is very tight on the meat and it wasn’t worth paying the £2.00 extra as I had no more meat than my wife’s ordinary dinner. The dinner itself was lovely. Parking: Parking facilities are brilliant.
Fantastic meal. Popped in for lunch with mates after a long drive. What really stood out was the service from Yacub. Really went the extra mile with us!!
First time coming here for a carvery but it certainly won't be my last. 2 adults 2 kids. Front of house very welcoming and couldn't do enough to please. Food was amazing and a variety of different things to try. The different roast potatoes was a bonus. The chefs on today were very polite and they actually chatted with customers that's always a bonus. Thoughrally enjoyed the day give yourselves a pat on the back for a job well done. And see you all next time
I think the place was great, good customer service and clean restaurant. I didn’t enjoy the poor options give for non meat eaters . I ordered a salmon and prawn, it came wrapped in pastry so I opened it to see the protein portion of the fish and I was shocked. Only one small prawn and one spoonful of fish , the rest was pastry. I understand carvery is mainly meat but if you give alternative for non meat eaters it should be at least protein reasonable. The place was great although some potatoes were right raw and uncooked. The Yorkshire pudding was tasteless and really hard cooked. I felt disappointed for paying and leaving the restaurant unsatisfied with the food. I highly won’t come again for a lunch carvery. My partner in the other hand ordered a meat carvery and he was satisfied with the meat but not at all with the potatoes, vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. My recommendation is to make sure there are more checks when cooking and provide reasonable protein meat alternative for people who cannot eat meat. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are not very well. Lack of amount of protein, high in carbs such as lots of pastry but mostly empty inside. Disappointed.
Waiting staff excellent. Host failed to explain clearly why we couldn’t swap tables to the one behind us. Had he been clear I wouldn’t have been so insistent. Food better than usual standards achieved with other branches. Thumbs up for Emily and Kris who were both lovely and very efficient We will definitely visit again with and without guests and will book the reserved area well in advance Thank you for a pleasant meal and excellent background music
We had a family meal here to celebrate my daughters birthday and there was a large group of us. Kiki greeted us straightaway and was super attentive and helpful. She was run off her feet all evening but found time to cut my daughters birthday cake for us and made it a very special evening. She was so friendly and went above and beyond. It was a hot night and there was no air con where they placed us so we couldn’t really enjoy the carvery as it was so hot in there.
