First the bad … place recently done up and was packed but the food wow awful tasteless mush , over boiled cauliflower with a bit of sauce poured on it pretending to be cauliflower cheese , everything tasteless terrible . Waitress smelt strongly of sweat in a dirty old shirt yuk. Drinks flat sent back 3 times to still be flat . Now the good the polish guy serving meat was amazing cheerful and friendly and the young lady who was the Manager dealt with my complaint perfectly and professionally. But boy is your food bad!
The roast was superb. For starters we had the cheesy mushroom and poppin chicken which was not very great. For mains, We had beek and lamb with some sides and their special gravy. The main dish was amazing. There was enough space at the car park, staff were also professional and smart.Food: 5/5
I had an amazing dining experience at Toby Carvery, and a big part of that was thanks to our waitress, Alisha. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. Her attentiveness was outstanding; she checked in on us regularly without being intrusive. Alisha was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great suggestions that made our meal even better. The service was quick, and she handled everything with a friendly demeanor that truly enhanced our experience. I can't wait to return, and I hope to be served by her again!"
We sat in the bar area due to the establishment being busy. We were with our service user who likes a quiet area. The staff, in particular, Abbey, were attuned to his needs. The food was fresh and delicious, try the sage and onion potatoes they're delicious. We will definitely be back.Food: 4/5
We came in for breakfast before work, Alisha served us, she was very kind, friendly and had plenty of patience when it came to paying the bill as we were paying by a gift card which took us a bit longer to set up. Very attentive and well presented. We will definitely be back. Today it was quiet and this was appreciated. All the food was freshly made, warm and well presented. Thank you Elisha from both of us!
Great service, good food, big portions. Waitress who served us was very friendly and helpful.Food: 5/5
While the refurbished space looks lovely, the operations have let it down. I made a reservation and arrived early. I was informed by the front desk that my table was not yet ready which was understandable. I was assured that it would be available within the allotted time. In the meantime, I was told to wait at the bar until my name was called. However, it then became apparent that people who had not made reservations were able to order food at the bar and then take tables in the dining area when they saw them vacant. They were bypassing the front desk/reservation system and jumping the queue. This was frustrating, as I had made a reservation and was still waiting for my table. After ten minutes, my reservation time had passed and there appeared to be some confusion at the front desk regarding bookings made over the phone versus online. Despite being told to grab a drink and our reservation would be on time, I was then informed that there would be an additional 15-minute wait for a total of 25 minutes after my reservation time. Meanwhile, those who had not made reservations were able to jump the queue by ordering at the bar rather than reserving and checking in at the front desk. Decided to leave as it was a free for fall and it would be nearly half an hour after our reservation we would eventually get seated. Didn't get to try the food. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be an isolated incident. Upon arrival, we saw another family leaving, complaining that they did not get their seats either. Additionally, the family next to us witnessed the same issues regarding the bar being used as a fast track to the dining area.
I came in earlier today for a carvery with my family and as usual the food was amazing. The chefs behind the deck were really friendly and the host got me seated quickly, even thought it was a busy Sunday. Nick brought over our drinks quickly and was very smiley however our main server Josh was very miserable and made me feel rushed and unwelcome. He didn't look like he was enjoying his job and didn't provide a happy tone. The restaurant overall looks much better after the refurbishment and for the most part, the majority of the staff are great. I always love to eat here!
We have just been for breakfast. The revamp looks good with good disabled access my wife needs a crutch to get about. Although it's self-service, occasionally you need help. This was politely offered. Maisie was the server that dealt with us, and she was very helpful and polite. Thanks to Maisie and her colleagues. I would recommend.Food: 5/5
It's been a while since visiting here and was pleasantly surprised by the new decor and how lovely the pub looked. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The food was fresh, hot and very tasty. We won't be leaving it so long till our next visit. We'll worth trying.Food: 4/5
