Lovely country park & reservoir. Great cafe, excellent food & quick service. Good shop, toilets. Ice-cream with a good range of flavours. Pity they don't let well behaved dogs inside but you can dine on the deck with a lovely view on dry days. Parking easy £5 for a day, great walks & extensive play park.
Great little place to visit with a few routes to choose from. Great for families. A little hilly in places which didn't bother us, but other people may struggle. Also I would say it was more of a woodland walk than a reservoir walk as we didn't see much of the Reservoir due to the amount of woodland between the footpath and water, but this did not spoil our experience. Very well sign posted and the footpaths were ok too. Lovely gift shop at the end of our walk where I purchased a few gifts. Staff friendly and helpful.
A beautiful place to come for a walk and a spot of lunch. 7k easy walk all around the reservoir, flat most of the way with some undulations. Car park £5 all day. Great kids play area. Staff at the visitor centre are really friendly and helpful, particularly in the cafe. Plenty of picnic spots too. Look out for the fearless rabbits!!
Fantastic walk, we took the long route but they have several other shorter walks so there is something for everyone Lots of space to park, a few activities on the trail plus an adventure play ground for the kiddies Visitors centre was lovely, food and drinks were nice and very welcome after walking for 3 hours in the cold Only downside for us was the disabled toilet only gave me the option of laying my son on the floor to change him. There is a baby change but a bit useless for a 7 year old in nappies
Lovely day out having a walk around the reservoir. Takes about 2 hours to complete at a casual pace and then had time on the park and food back at the restaurant. Park could do with some updating as starting to look a little tired however there was some work being done on site in general. Would highly recommend for a family day out.
Nice 4.5 mile walk around the reservoir. Mostly flat but some steps and steep bits. Dogs on a lead at all times. Didn't realise dogs were not allowed in the visitor centre. If you are alone you wouldn't be able to go in and buy a takeaway coffee or sandwich. You can sit on the decked area outside the restaurant but not go inside, ok if you are not alone. Had to pay £5 to park the car allowing enough time to do the reservoir circuit and have something to eat. Nice day out.
Great place for walking for all ages. Children's play area....cafe/restaurant ,good food ,coffee etc , at reasonable prices. Also not far from the town of Leek which is worth a look round .
Lovely Reservoir to walk around, a good 4.5 miles 7 5 km all way around. It is possible to do the loop with a 2 hour parking ticket £3, unless you're walking at a slower pace or planning on stopping longer for picnic or visiting the children's outdoor play area in which case a £5 ticket is required. Loads of parking spaces in multiple parking areas. The paths are crushed stones so shoes would be as good as boots, however there are some steep parts which can be slippy when wet so ensure they are good shoes. If you want to do a shorter loop then the path down the east side of the reservoir from the visitor centre has an extra loop before coming back on itself less than 2 miles total and has a few rubbish bins and dog bins on that part only. There are toilet facilities at the visitor centre plus a restaurant/cafe and gift shop.
Beautiful place but go when the weather's nice and you'll love it even more. Lovely cafe with good food
