Love this place! Excellent customer service, delicious cakes, lovely tablecloths, proper bone China crockery, fabulous music!
Went here as a treat with my parents. The place is great. The atmosphere is 40s although I don't know if indulgent high teas were that common in the 40s :- . The staff is really friendly. The cakes are delicious and you get a lot of it. The also offer a massive selection of teas. All round a great place to go.
Very friendly typical 1940's war time themed cafe. Great homemade cake selection and love the place for breakfast or a slightly alternative afternoon tea option as a treat for parents/Mother's Day type occasions. Staff are very helpful and dressed to the theme. Best to book ahead.
Booked as a treat for my Dad's 90th birthday. It was so scrumptious! Everything for afternoon tea was freshly prepared, lovely sandwiches, quiche and delicious cakes. We were made very welcome and the staff were outstanding and went the extra mile to make sure my Dad was happy and he was even presented with a little birthday cake and candle. Highly recommend this place!
We chose this cafe for a birthday outing for elderly relatives having seen its attractive web site. We were really disappointed. The premises were cramped and uncomfortable and the service was agonisingly slow. We had mentioned on the phone that it was our mothers’ joint birthday outing, but when we arrived this fact was not acknowledged in any way. It took an hour and a quarter just for our drinks to be served. In all it took well over two hours to serve us a very simple high tea. The period music was on repeat and we listened to the same songs at least three times. The food was overpriced and made from cheap, low quality ingredients the cheapest, thinnest sliced bread available, for example. The cake was quite good and served in massive portions, but that hardly compensated for the rest of the experience which was decidedly bad. Even the vintage cloth place mats were tired and crumpled.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, really nice food and drink, worth a visit for the experience, will definitely be going back.
Booked for afternoon tea as a late father's day gift for my husband, lovely welcome, food wonderful and plenty of it. Well worth the money. I highly recommend this place, but advise you ring and book first.
My favourite tea room! Excellent loose-leaf tea, scrumptious cakes and hot & cold food. It is so welcoming to all ages and the vintage vibe is a delight.
Very authentic wartime feel and great food. Lots of choices for coeliacs too.
Very welcoming and friendly staff who make a lot of effort to give the cafe a vintage feel. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast with hot chocolate and tea. Will come again.
