I joined initially a year ago when gym was looked after Better, and honestly it was a terrible place even for the £38 monthly membership. Now new company took over, Be Well, I just re joined and to be honest so far so good, helpful staff, clean facilities, not too busy, equipment is in good condition. Good basic gym, free weight are pretty decent too. Have not used the pool so can't really comment on that.
Great pool 25mtrs and loving the borough initiative of 'free swimming' for certain groups. All the staff are friendly and informative especially Angie and Mike. I've always been made to feel very welcomed and had any questions or concerns resolved promptly.

I've just had my second attempt at going for a free swimming session. Both times I booked online, no issue, to be stopped at the turnstiles and told that the pool is closed for free swimming except for early in the morning 6 to 9 am, 1h between 12.30 and 1.30pm, and then in the evening. Back then, I was also told that this would change with the start of the school term. I've just come back from my second attempt, I even called the telephone number on Friday 3 days prior to check whether the swimming pool was open for free swimming at my selected time, they confirmed it was. I turned up today, to be stopped AGAIN and told AGAIN that the pool is closed and that the timetables for free swimming sessions haven't changed and they won't change in the future. Waste of time, waste of money I've bought all the gear for swimming waste of my lunch hour at work. Dreadful. Dreadful. Dreadful.
Oh my days what an amazing centre. I’ve only been 4 times but it’s a gem. Really genuine friendly staff, the class I went to was challenging but really well delivered, gym was great more functional area would be great, swimming pool is great too. The building is a great example of a well built building from the 70s I think! Quality.
Friendly staff except a lady with short, blonde hair who comes every other week. She is extremely rude. Good gym/swimming pool overall.
it is very sad that the owner of the pool has to be changed. I swam for 2.6 years. Cancellation by the team that provided us with services. Clean pool, too warm water. To the whole team - I am very grateful for our joint cooperation with Health. Everything was very good and productive.
Very poor customer service and focus. Staff display bad attitude and are generally disinterested. Pool facilities used to be good before Better thats a joke itself took this centre over. Id recommend seeking membership elsewhere as their fees are bordering on the ridiculous considering what it is.
This place is Dirty. The staff are more interested in talking to each other than keeping the gym clean. Training machines are mostly fine even though some are missing bolts and screws. The free weight room is good but again not very clean. The lockers are constantly occupied, even when there is no-one at the gym.
I booked the soft play area for my daughters 5th birthday. All the kids enjoyed themselves. I had a lil snack section in the small room next to the soft play. Excellent value for money. Very helpful staff. Will defo recomend to anyone.
