Thurrock Council

Appalling and unhelpful. I had to wait for ages to get through to the right department. Unfortunately Thurrock Council do not offer a service fit for purpose.

wouldn't even 1 star them! I have lived at my current property for coming on 4 years and oh my gosh its just falling apart! I have contacted through, phone and emails both mears and Thurrock council but both have failed to assist me and my family with 3 children with any of the un-liveable conditions I live in! - No heating in the property other then a blow heater thats in the living room that is burning that heater, I reported this over a year ago for them to come out twice and do nothing. - Mould that I hold a NHS letter stating that the mould in my property is causing my children to become very unwell with chest infections, I have had the brown out my own furniture that I paid for and brought into the property to have to throw it away due to mould growing on them, this also includes the cot-bed my daughter was sleeping in and my other two children slept in as a baby thats a memory I have had to let go off that I shouldn't have had to. - we have doors in the flat that are practically made from cardboard which in an event of a fire would spreed it through the property. - behind the cooker we have a melted plastic pipe and a plug socket that is burnt and exposing live wires. - we physically have a puddle formed in the hall way from were its so damp and could in the property and were theirs no window or natural light - we now hear rats running around our vents which we are unsure weather their getting into the property or not! so with all of this I have handed in my notice to quit form and is set to move out within 2 weeks and out of Thurrock it self as its the worst kept area I have ever lived in and I've live in barking and dagenham, basildon, clacton on sea, minster Kent but Thurrock is the worst! You get no help from this council and yet even though I am due to leave I can't secure my property with the deposit till the referencing is done by them which they are saying they can't do even though I gave them a consent form... so now their trying to make two parents who are trying to give their kids a better way of living for their health homeless all because they won't cooperate!

cant even get to speak to a planning department rep, tried for 20 minutes, and counting...listening to the automated message. dreadful dreadful dreadful

staff use vehicles and company time for there own use photos if req lol now they ain't collected these bins yet again ....we pay for a service ....do it

Firstly, finding a contact number to speak to someone is terrible. Secondly, regarding Waste and Recycling, when the Dustbin People miss your bin, they say they will have them drive round the next working day to collect it, but they do not. They also believe the bins for non-recycling waste is capable of holding 2 weeks’ worth of rubbish (scoffs), highly inaccurate. Thirdly, I generally find the service appalling in this area. Even when you follow their policy and procedures, when they make a mistake, it’s like they do the absolute minimum to resolve it, install confidence in them and in the process their attitude comes across as, “live with it”. It stinks!
