Loved everything about this place. From our arrival in the car park, looking up at the well kept pub, we knew we'd have a good lunch and it did not disappoint. We felt immediately welcome & if we'd not booked a meal or wasn't the designated driver - I'd have been very happy to stay in the bar area to drink all afternoon. The central 'Jack n Jill' log fire was perfect to warm us up. Great choice on the menu for seafood plus duck, burger and steak. Tig who served us was lovely and the food that came progressively was delicious and not rushed. Not just the staff, but the customers too, were really friendly and chatty. Our dog really enjoyed his welcome too. We'll definitely be back.
One of my favourite pubs. Food is top quality and staff is always super friendly and goes the extra mile to give you a great experience. Thank you to Georgina in particular for always making us feeling so welcome. Need to mention as well that their wine selection is stellar for a pub.Food: 5/5
A hidden jewel in kent. I wish more people would visit this amazing place. Food is ALWAYS just delicious, service is flawless and atmosphere is great. Very competitive prices for the quality of food that is being served. I have never been disappointed. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
This is a beautiful restaurant with excellent service. The interior has historic exposed beams, an open fire, heavy wooden tables and very tasteful decor. The cocktails are outstanding! Truly excellent mixology. The food is good - but not as good as expected. The burger was overdone, the sole was slightly undercooked, the oysters were small and had a milky deposit on one I’ve never seen in an oyster before. We were brought the three fish dishes with regular sides instead of the Sunday roast sides as was offered and requested. Our food was also served at different times due to the dietary requirements of one. I think this place is amazing though and want to come back to retry the food as the sprays were excellent. The rooms of the restaurant are divided up in a way that they feel intimate despite having plenty of spaces. The bathrooms are very ‘pub’ style - they don’t do the restaurant justice in terms of space, fittings, comfort, capacity or class. I’ll be back.
Gorgeous pub, service and environment were excellent and food was delicious. It's also dog friendly which is brilliant. Although we didn't use it, there is a lovely outdoor area and I bet it is really nice in the summer Parking: Parking was good when we went, there's a small car park and a medium sized overflow car park
Such a lovely village pub, serving some delicious dishesFood: 5/5
Lovely pub for foodies. Came for the Sunday roast and wasn't disappointed. Only slight would be that the bone marrow puck as described in the menu was not included with our beef roast and we were still charged the full price. Sticky toffee pudding was pretty faultless. Would still return as they always tend to have great options and a warm, traditional pub atmosphere.
Always a joy to pop in here when visiting friends in Oare. Lovely staff, food, bar nibbles and atmosphere. Great inside and out! Very dog and child friendly also. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.Recommended dishesRoast Beef Lunch, Sticky Toffee Pudding Vanilia Ice, Cheese BoardParking spacePlenty of parkingParking optionsFree parking lot
We had the walkers menu, starter or pork was great. Main of chicken, beans were not cooked and potatos were burnt, pudding was meh. Staff were friendly.Food: 2/5
Absolutely magical. We had a pint of prawns, oysters, bread and olives, rockfish and moule. All cooked to perfection. The mussels were the star and the pot was easily enough for two if not three! We'd come to watch Yesterday showing on the outdoor cinema. It was delightful and the sound of wildlife in the creek in the background and bats flitting overhead was enchanting. The staff were spot on, especially Liz. Picture perfect evening. Thank you
