Decided to visit based on reviews and Three Horseshoes totally lives up to them reviews and awards! The restaurant has a super warm, local vibe, with a touch of class. Friendly service with food exceptional both in flavor and presentation. No regrets!!
A delightful experience! We arrived here exhausted & cold after a long hike & were sat by a roaring fire. Service was warm, helpful & welcoming from start to finish. We all had amazing meals too! Complementary fresh bread with whipped marmite butter, anyone? I highly recommend the fish & chips too. We will be back next time we visit the area.
I'm an annual visitor to the area with my cycling club and have never ever noticed this place before, until this week when I'd come with my wife for a weeks holiday and chanced upon it whilst on a bike ride. I liked the loo of the place, chatted with the owner and booked a table for dinner the following night. All I can say is that we were really happy with everything!!! The food was fantastic, restaurant standard.... imaginative menu and really well prepared. The service was excellent, the young staff have clearly been properly trained. The welcome was warm and we thought the prices were very reasonable for the food being offered. The have done a fantastic job in the garden with the mini dining-huts, we really loved ours and the lovey view out to the Brecon Beacons. When I'm next in the area, next July, with my cycle club.. I shall suggest we stop off for a post ride pint! When I'm next around here with my wife we will be sure to book for dinner once again, as it was one of the highlights of our week. Thank you for fitting us in at such short notice.
Went for an evening meal here whilst visiting the Brecon beacons for a staycation. I had the plaice fillet whilst my mum had the pie and mash which was venison. Both dishes were lovely and good size portions. Staff all very attentive and friendly. We had the lemon Sponge for dessert which again did not disappoint. After the meal we had a few drinks in the beer garden at the back which had a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. The pub its self is hidden away from the main streets and is tucked away amongst a residential area. It's not a pub you will just stumble upon. But definitely worth going out your way to visit.
Delicious dinner at the Three Horseshoes last night. Food and service were both excellent. Good selection for vegetarian and a vegan option per course also. Make sure to book in advance especially for a weekend as the phone was off the hook all evening taking bookings for the upcoming weeks.
We came just before they stop serving lunch. We were lucky that we still managed to have a lunch in here. Great services and very delicious food! Will definitely come back here!
Best meal I have had in a very long time. Beautifully cooked and very reasonable given the quality. Get booked in before everyone finds out about it. Found it in a glowing vogue magazine review and did not dissapoint. You won't regret it.
A very friendly welcome and service. Complimentary bread and marmite butter before starters. A focused menu with a variety of dishes with different dietary choices. Quick service with just the right amount time to enjoy a pint before the main. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with a traditional pub vide, fire and lots of wood kinda vibe. My starter was unique and full of flavour and a great warm up to the main dish which was filling and delicious. Would of liked more vegan desert options on the desert menu but was too full from the starter and main to even have one.
This pub has food that makes you smile, a perfect summer time menu with fresh and light flavours that captures Welsh summer by the Brecons. I had the duck leg confit which was wrapped in prosciutto I do wish was labeled on the menu with orange puree, raisins and pistachios. It was a wonderful treat and paired lovely with the setting sun setting over the Brecons. For mains I had the monk fish which delicate and refreshing. To finish the night we had a sponge cake with lemon curd and Italian mirangue. I was impressed by the selection of fish dishes not just the odd token one thrown in to meet the needs of the masses. Caring and attentive service and great gin and tonic to boot completed a wonderful night. The garden had small intamate huts that looked on to the peaks and the indoor seating was also kept pristine and professional with a welcoming ambiance. I am very much looking forward to making it a must visit everytime I'm near by.
Is the food nice, absolutely. Was the beef perfectly cooked, absolutely. Was all the food 5/5? Absolutely. Was the staff rude, absolutely! I was in a hoody, it's Sunday and why shouldn't I? My friend is also wearing relaxed clothing. And it was bizarre to be treated so poorly. Bareing mind, we have all been successful in our careers. We were treated with absolutely disgust almost, the comical thing was the shed next door, the server was so polite and nice. But then rude to us? I don't understand it? Memorable moments: - when ordering starters and desserts, the waitress rudely said "I need the menu, you can have the menu back when you want dessert" my friend was holding his menu as he pondered if he was in consideration for this. And the best, rudest comment yet. - Firstly, asked if we wanted dessert. We declined, as we felt the poor service was quite enough. Then 1 minute later, told our time was up and we needed to leave. So, what exactly would happen if we ordered dessert? Would we be asked to move? And not get dessert? The other sheds for example were empty...I'm so curious to see how our requirment to leave was met, when 2 other sheds were free. And just to reiterate this, the pictures later on show the sheds empty...but we "needed to leave" yet there were empty "sheds" The 1 star, is for the food, the service, can and will remain insulting, and we all felt insulted by how they treated us. We was too young, dressed in jeans and hoody not appropriate for the establishment which was not a fancy restaurant, its still an "inn" Shame, honestly staff let it down
